A delicious Mincemeat Festive Wreath made from pizza dough. Filled with mincemeat, apple, stem ginger and flaked almonds, this would be perfect served as breakfast on Christmas Day.
This Mincemeat Festive Wreath is actually made from pizza dough, with some spices added to the dough. It is then filled with mincemeat, juicy apple chunks, stem ginger, together with some flaked almonds. Additionally, the filled dough is rolled up and sliced to make pinwheels. Finally, it is placed inside a baking tin to make a wreath shape.
A festive Mincemeat Christmas Cake which is a great alternative to a more traditional fruit cake. A light sponge that still tastes like Christmas cake!
This cake is very easy to make and is a great way of using up any jars of mincemeat that you might have lying around, which is how I came to making it myself this week. Not everyone likes the more traditional Christmas cake, made using lots of dried fruit and candid peel. My Mincemeat Christmas Cake, is a much lighter cake and yet still contains the flavours of a more traditional version and is much quicker to make too.
I love a bargain, and earlier this week I heard a rumour from my OH’s Gran that Sainsburys were selling off their jars of mincemeat for just 5p each!!! Yes just 5 pennies, and not being able to resist this tempting offer, I drove over to my local store and bought myself some jars, which still had plenty of date left.
