Strawberries are such a staple summer fruit in this country aren’t they? They symbolise all that is good about this country I think. Our happy summer days (even if they are not as sunny and warm as we would like), Wimbledon which always brings our country together, picnics , and, of course desserts!!!!
First week post holiday and it has been spent wishing for better weather, as it has mostly rained, and thinking back to what we were doing this time last week and wishing we were back in Spain!
A few weeks ago I was sent some new Soreen Squidgy Mini Cakes to try. Now I have to admit I do like Soreen Malt Loaf covered with butter, it is just delicious. Chewy and fruity and mmmm!
The week before I went on holiday, I wanted to use up some bits and bobs I had in my kitchen, and as I needed to make a cake for playgroup anyway, it was the perfect opportunity to use them up in a tasty way.
