As much as I enjoy cooking and baking for my family, it is always nice when I do not have to and to have someone else prepare a meal for me instead. I suppose as a family we eat out maybe once a month, sometimes more like if we are away on holiday. There was a time when my boys were younger that we hardly never ate out. Mostly due to them being fussy eaters and also because sometimes the hassle of keeping them occupied while waiting for food, was too much for me to be able to relax and enjoy the ambience of eating out!
This Spooktacular Halloween Pavlova would make an impressive centrepiece. Marshmallowy meringue filled with a chocolate cream and raspberries, topped with more of the same plus chocolate soil, raspberry blood coulis and meringue ghosts and chocolate spiders. Try if you dare…..
Halloween is such a great excuse to get creative when I bake and make some fun treats to share with my friends, family and blog readers. There is just so much scope to get messy in the kitchen and create something that looks fun and tastes delicious. This Spooktacular Halloween Pavlova is actually very easy to make and does not take as long as you might think.

With Mother’s Day almost here, I am sure that many of us are considering how to spoil and thank our Mums for being there for us. Gifts are a common way to thank our Mum’s and the shops are full of ideas at the moment, from flowers to candles, to photo frames to cuddly bears and hearts. However, have you ever considered sending your Mum a cake as a gift?
When I was asked if I would like to review hiring a Rug Doctor, it made me think about the carpets in my house and how in the 4 and a half years we have lived here, I have never cleaned my carpets. In fact I think that in the whole time I have lived in all the many flats and houses since leaving home, I have never cleaned a carpet properly, other than using a wet cloth and some cleaning spray!
As a family, we do not eat out very often. When we do, we tend to visit the same eating establishments as I have two fussy eaters who are not open to trying new foods. Now my boys , and their daddy and I, are big fans of pasta so it came as a surprise to me, when I thought about it, that we have never visited our local Prezzo restaurant.
