As a family, we do not eat out very often. When we do, we tend to visit the same eating establishments as I have two fussy eaters who are not open to trying new foods. Now my boys , and their daddy and I, are big fans of pasta so it came as a surprise to me, when I thought about it, that we have never visited our local Prezzo restaurant.
I have eaten there without my children, a few times before they were born, once when I was in the early stages of pregnancy with Burton and then once again since on a rare child are night out. However, its is not a place I have ever considered taking them to for a meal. Having now visited I cannot believe why it took me so long to try eating there as a family, because they feature on their menus food which my boys love :pizza and pasta!
I hate to admit that if it had not been for me taking part in the Britmums and Prezzo collaboration #PrezzoLaFamiglia Challenge, I hate to think how much longer it would have taken us to visit! So I have a lot to thank them for because following our successful evening there last Friday, it is a place we will definitely revisit from now on.
We popped along after I booked us a table very easily online last Friday for 6pm, and here is how we got on:
The spaghetti bolognese was so tasty and we had no problem eating it all!
It is such a great idea to offer a sharing pasta bowl because it allows for each family to choose their own portion size, in our case the boys had a helping each and their daddy and I then got two!
The menu allows for you to also have a starter, two sides, the pasta bowl and then some pudding plus a soft drink each and this all comes in at just £30. I cannot think of anywhere else where we could get this much food plus drinks for just £7.50 a head, and not junk food either.
I am quite excited about taking my family to Prezzo again because it does not feel like I am taking them to a child friendly restaurant as such, it feels more grown up somehow.
My only slight complaint, well maybe more of a niggle, about the LaFamiglia Challenge is that our table was not big enough for all of our food, drinks and dining crockery and glassware! I think a family of four needs a table for at least 6 to be able to get everything on it and to be able to have room to share with comfort!
That aside we had a lovely time, and we enjoyed people watching and talking about our day and what we had planned for the weekend.
We left an hour and a half later feeling full and content, and cannot wait to return again.
Cheers!

That’s a great deal, especially for a family like yours – I’m not sure it would feed ours though as I can see Sam polishing that off single handedly! Unfortunately we don’t have a Prezzo around here either 🙁

it is good value. But as you say, if my two were both teenagers, I think we might have struggled to fill us all up with just one sharing bowl! x
