Welcome to 2019. In fact Happy New Year to you and thank you for reading my blog for another year. This is my first baking related blog post this year and indeed for a few weeks, as I enjoyed a nice little blogging break over Christmas. Of course, I still cooked and baked a lot but it was for my family and it was nice to take a few weeks off.
As you may know myself and Helen from Casa Costello blog, host the Bake Of The Week linky and we thought it would be nice to share some of our favourite bakes from 2018 from the lovely baking bloggers who joined in.
I have also added some of the many bakes I blogged myself last year. Well, I might as well pimp my own recipes seeing as though this is a round up post!
So without further ado, here are my Bakes of the Week
January
My favourite Bake of the Week for this month are these yummy biscuits which are a clever take on a classic Scottish dessert: Cranachan Shortbread with Whiskey
January saw me post quite a lot of recipes considering it should be a time for cutting down after Christmas! My favourites from this month included this every so easy Slow Cooker Toffee Apple Cake
and these delicious Chocolate Orange Flapjacks
February
The m month for romantic bakes and lots of you took this as inspiration when entering your bakes. My favourite Bake of the Week of February comes from Cat with these Hidden Heart Cupcakes
This month saw me post this Strawberry and White Chocolate Surprise Cake
and this Jammy Dodgers Traybake Cake, a bake which I make a lot and always goes down well with everyone I bake it for.
March
Easter is always great inspiration for baking during March and this was certainly the case for me this month. However, my favourite Bake of the Week comes from Jacqueline with her delectable Cheesecake Brownies
My March bakes were heavily influenced by chocolate eggs! I made this no bake Giant Chocolate Easter Nest Cake
This Raspberry and Chocolate Chip Banana Bread was one of many ways I used up over ripe bananas in a bake last year.
This pretty Creme Egg Surprise Cake is a great way of showing off lots of little easter treats
April
I love an illusion cake and this Giant Dropped Ice Cream Cone Cake was my favourite Bake of the Week for April.
In April some of the cakes I posted included this Party Ring Marble Cake
my first ever Gluten and Dairy Free Rainbow Cake made for my son’s birthday party.
May
I loved these Jammie Dodger Blondies back in May
I posted my Kit Kat Rocky Road
and this Lemon and Buttermilk Traybake
June
I could eat one of these Blueberry Scones with Lemon Glaze which was my favourite Bake Of The Week last June.
I blogged about this Lemon Jammie Dodgers Traybake
and this Pink Kit Kat Celebration Cake
July
How amazing was this Mojito Cheesecake from last July? Such a great previous entry to Bake Of the Week.
I enjoyed making my Bourbon Biscuit Cake
August
This months Bake of the Week was for these Coffee Chocolate Chip Cookies with Cardamom
This month saw that start of the new GBBO series which meant the return of my bake along linky. As a result of this my bakes posted last August were influenced by the show, which included these Funfetti Custard Creams
September
These 3D Duck Biscuits were a favourite of mine last September, and they were featured on the Tv too!
Still inspired by the GBBO I posted this recipe for Sticky Gingerbread
this delicious Raspberry, Lemon and White Chocolate Roulade
October
Halloween and autumn is always a popular theme for bakes in October and my favourite recipe were these Pumpkin Spice Eclairs
I enjoyed some baking firsts including these Pink Ombre Madeleines
A Spooktacular Pavlova for Halloween
My first ever Vegan Cake which appeared on GBBO Extra Slice in the audience!
November
I was so impressed with these Pain au Chocolates and made them a Bake Of The Week last November
I posted the recipe for this simple Carrot Bundt Cake
and these Coffee and Walnut Baked Doughnuts
December
Another great month for fun bakes which are themed by Christmas. My favourite Bake Of The Week was this Decadent Roasted Banana & Chocolate Celebration Cake
I posted a couple of festive recipes: this Chocolate Reindeer Swiss Roll
and this Maltesers Merryteaser Reindeer Chocolate Cake
So now I need to get baking and blogging for 2019. I actually have a few cakes that I made last year but have not yet blogged about, so that will be my first task to finish those recipes and get them posted.
Thank you to everyone who linked up their recipes to Bake Of The Week (and my GBBO Bloggers linky) and remember to check out Helen’s 2018 round up post to see who she chose as her favourites.
