With Christmas now looming on the not so distant horizon now, I have been thinking about what food to make and buy for the festive period. I just adore party food, BUT I do not want to eat too many delicious nibbles and treats and then regret it at my weigh in after Christmas! This Cauliflower Hummus is great source of nutrition and another way of getting some veggies into my diet.
It was a very hectic week here last week, mostly due to it being the school Halloween disco yesterday and because I am a member of the PTA, the preparations can take a while to sort out! Therefore, when I decided to do some baking in-between making the 70 banana muffins I made for the KS1 disco, it needed to be something quick and easy that I could bake for the boys for their after school snack.
So Week 5 was all about bakes using alternative ingredients and 25 of us had a go at creating something free from…whether it be gluten, sugar, dairy, or in some cases a mixture. Some of you even went for a vegan bake.
I do love pizzas – they are such a convenient meal because they take next to no time to cook, and, a bit like a sandwich, pretty much anything goes as toppings. However, pizza are not low in calories and since I started following the Slimming World plan, they are a food I avoid now.
