With it being Halloween at the end of the month, my boys are started to get a little excited already. This is largely due to the fact that the school Halloween disco is on the 20th and they, like many of the other school children, love this because they get to dress up in fancy dress and so do the teachers and PTA helpers. I have to admit, *whispers* it is my favourite disco of the three held each year too!
There is a new bear on the book shelves and he is funny, mischievous and purple and likes to play pranks on others! He is also a bear who shows his bare self and bottom (which my youngest found hilarious!) at the start of the story, so you know from there on in it is going to be a fun read.
When Burton was a tiny baby there were a handful of stories which I would enjoy reading to him over and over again. One of them was Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney. I used to love reading this simple little tale of love between a parent and his young child, each describing how much they loved each other and the older hare always out witting his little hare at every love you declaration. I have to admit, back then when it was just me reading this story to my new (and first) born, it would bring tears to my eyes because it replicated how much I did love my little baby boy.
