This moist Gin and Tonic Layer Cake is a perfect treat for she (or he) who loves gin and cake as it combines both in one delicious sponge. Why have gin in a glass when you can eat it in a cake?
Gin and Tonic inside a cake is always a good thing, right? I have to admit that I much prefer the taste of gin in cake form than I do in glass, largely due to a very over indulgent gin night way back when which made me ill! However, it was a friends birthday the other day, and knowing how she enjoys a tipple in a glass, I decided to make her this Gin and Tonic Layer Cake as a gift.
These Simple Little Jammy Filled Cupcakes are so easy to make and perfect for children to bake with some grown up supervision. Thanks to Dr.Oetker cake making and decorating has never been easier!
The summer holidays can be hard work at times especially if the weather is wet. I like to let the boys do a spot of baking on a wet afternoon, so we can enjoy their creations for tea, or picnics or for entertaining when friends pop over for a play date.
I actually made this cake back in July for a friend’s husband, but what with the holidays and the my #GBBOBloggers2016 bake along I have a few bakes that I have not yet posted, which is why I will be featuring them over the next few weeks!
I totally made this Jammy Dodger Funfetti Sprinkles cake design on a whim. My friend said that her husband liked a Victoria sponge with jam and buttercream, which was a relatively easy cake to make. BUT this is me and I don’t like to just offer someone a Victoria Sponge for a commissioned birthday cake – oh no! No, I like to add my own spin on it and when I was delving into my cupboard, I found some unopened packets of jammy dodgers, that I had bought a few weeks earlier for the boys as they were on a deal at Poundland (3 for £1 – what a bargain! Except, it was not a bargain as the boys did not like them!), and some sprinkles. I figured, and hoped, that being a fan of jam cake the recipient would also be a fan of jammy biscuits and everyone likes sprinkles don’t they?
A gorgeous Golden Sparkle Celebration Cake which is very simple to make, and would be a wonderful cake to present to anyone celebrating 50 years of marriage, or maybe even just a birthday or some other special occasion.
The Great British Bake Off is back!!!! Yaaaay *does a happy dance* ! Of course this means that it also sees the return of the Great Bloggers Bake Off (#GBBOBloggers2016) *does another happy dance*. No doubt by now we will all have seen the first episode, and met the new contestants and seen some scrummy cakes in the process (I love cake week – my favourite!).
Red Nose Day 2015 is almost upon us, a day to make people laugh and smile and do funny things in order to raise money for a very worthwhile cause. It seems hard to believe that Comic Relief is 30 years old this year – I remember the first one quite well. Nowadays it has become a national institution, and it always amazes me how much money we Brits raise each year.
