I love this time of year because not only is it almost my birthday (which I do look forward to, until I remember how old I am going to be!), the weather is warming up and the nights are longer, but British strawberries are back and in season!!! I do find it amazing that we can now buy them all year round, via importing them from warmer climates, but you cannot beat a juicy, sweet British grown strawberry (in my opinion!).
Halloween is not far away now and there were so many bake ideas that I pinned last year, that I never had time to make, that I am already happily baking some now!! Knowing how much fun a pinata style cake is to not only make but serve, I thought that for Halloween it is the perfect excuse to make one because you can fill it with treats (and tricks if you were that way inclined!!) . Therefore, if you are having a party at home, the kids get to have treats with their cake which is what trick or treat is all about really.
I decided to make some pinata cupcakes. Pinata cakes have been made before of course, indeed google is full of them, but to make mine stand out I decided to try and make mine stand out from the cupcake crowd.
