The Great British Bake Off is back!!!! Yaaaay *does a happy dance* ! Of course this means that it also sees the return of the Great Bloggers Bake Off *does another happy dance*.  Also, it sees the return of me baking lots and trying not to gain too much weight! It is semi finals week on the Great British Bake Off and with that brings patisserie week.  Do you have your favourite to win the series yet? Having read up on tonights show, I decided to have a go at making some Choux Buns which is the signature round this week. Rather than make 24 identical choux buns, I thought I would make some Halloween inspired buns instead: Halloween Mummy Eclairs and Chocolate Choux Bats. Therefore, I opted to make 10 Mummy Eclairs and 10 Choux Bats (for some reason my recipe made 20 choux buns instead of 24!).

I took a gamble baking ahead of tonights Great British Bake Off, because having only seen the preview of this weeks episode at the end of last weeks, it was hard to determine exactly what bakes were going to be featured tonight in the Forgotten Bakes theme. Having turned to my fellow #gbbobloggers2017 , we think we identified two of tonights bakes and one ‘could be’ a Cumberland Nicky. I made different version without any alcohol , hence a Cumberland No Rum Nicky.

I have such a sweet tooth and whether I am baking or eating desserts, it really makes me smile and I genuinely get real pleasure from creating sweet food and from the taste of it too. My favourite hot pudding of all time is Sticky Toffee Pudding , and if it is on the dessert menu whenever I eat out I find it hard to resist having a portion!

I love toffee and apples together, so it made perfect sense to make a Toffee Apple Millionaires Shortbread.
