So Patisserie week has ended and as usual you have all baked so hard and joined in with some delicious looking and sounding recipes. All together 22 patisserie inspired bakes were linked up and now it is time to decide who will be this weeks Star Bakers.
Thank you to Naomi for hosting this week and for her delicious raspberry cream horns – love the addition of chocolate around the end of her horns too mmmmm!
So without any further ado, here are the Star Bakers:
Cream Horns
Several of you made your own puff pastry for this weeks signature bake – something I have not yet tried making myself (which after 6 series of the GBBO is probably not something to be proud of, as the host of a bake along *ahem* !). You all show cased some amazing fillings too, from savoury cream cheese, to trifle and homemade lemon curd . However, in the end for me I went with what I felt were the most creative in terms of flavours, and that makes Angela this weeks Star Baker with her Lemon Posset & Raspberry and Apple Crumble & Custard Cream Horns
Mokatines
Not many of you opted for this weeks Technical Challenge, and none of you went with Mary’s coffee flavoured mini cakes!!! (me included lol!). After looking at all of the entries for this round, I feel that the person who went to the most effort was Shimelle – seriously she made her own GF cookies to then turn into crumbs to dip her GF mokatine inspired cakes into !!! They look fabulous 🙂
Ok so at the moment this is looking like last week’s round up , as both these bakers were crowned with Star Baker last week too (sorry to everyone else, but I hope you agree that it is deserved again this week).
Religieuse a l’ancienne / Choux Pastry
Lots of you decided to make choux pastry this week, mostly in the form of eclairs! I loved some of the flavours here too, like After Eight Mint, Chocolate Orange and look how pretty these party eclairs are. We did have baker make profiteroles which I think look so pretty too. However, this round did require the bakers to build a choice pastry tower and only one of you actually recreated a Religieuse a l’ancienne, so congratulations to Anca for being Star Baker
However, I also want to award a Star Baker to Hazel for her ingenious Croquembouche Cupcakes – a very close runner up indeed, but due to the originality of the bake , I feel she deserves a joint first place.
**Winners please contact me if you would like a Star Baker badge to display.*
Well done to everyone who joined in – such great baking 🙂
