For Burton’s birthday this year, we decided to take him to Legoland instead of throwing him another birthday party and I am so glad we did! Don’t get me wrong, I love planning and putting together parties for my children, but I have to admit they can be a tad stressful, expensive and time consuming so to know that I did not have to do any party planning, was actually really nice!!
The boys and I travelled up to Reading by train after school on the Friday – lots of excitement as the boys have only been on one a few times. I was a little apprehensive about the journey, but luckily due to the iPads and some snacks we got there and Daddy was there to meet us.
We spent the Friday night at a Holiday Inn in Maidenhead, which I have to say I was very impressed with for the way they catered so well for children – made our short stay very relaxing.
Saturday morning we arrived at Legoland before it opened and joined the queue ready to make our way to the Atlantis Submarine as our first ride, and it was brilliant!
We went on a few rides – obviously visiting on a Saturday meant there were always going to be queues, and so we hardly covered the huge array of rides that Legoland has, BUT we still had an awesome time! My brother, Uncle Nick, met us there too which was nice as we do not see him very often (plus not being a dad means he does not have a reason to visit Legoland normally!!)
Saturday night after Legoland, which we stayed at until it closed at 7pm, we stayed at Daddy’s flat share in Gosport as the boys and I have not visited him since he took his new job back in January. This meant that Sunday we were able to explore Gunwharf, which was just a short ferry ride away across the harbour and we climbed the Spinnaker Tower, and had some lunch.
It was a lovely day and the end to a lovely birthday weekend for Burton, and both boys cannot wait to return to both Legoland and Daddy’s flat again 🙂
While we were away for the weekend it gave me the perfect excuse to sample the new Graze Good To Go range. Instead of only being able to purchase Graze packs on line via mail order subscription, you can now buy packs in Sainsbury’s and Boots – hurrah! They are the perfect size to take with you in your handbag, hand luggage, lunch box or suitcase and rucksack and are ideal for munching on when on the go! I tried mine on the train, in my hotel room and all the family enjoyed silencing our tummy rumbles with some while we watched a show at Legoland!
Deeelicious, nutritious and easy to carry anywhere and everywhere you go!
I was sent a section of Graze Good To Go packs for the purpose of a review.
(Everything else mentioned in this post was not a review)

oh it looks amazing! After wanting desperately to take Leo to Thomas Land for years this is now where I’d love to take them. It seems everyone I know is going or has been recently too according to my fb news feed!
