I love using fish in my cooking. It is so good for you in so many ways: it is a high-protein and it is a low-fat food that provides a variety of health benefits. White-fleshed fish, in particular, is lower in fat than any other source of animal protein, and oily fish are high in omega-3 fatty acids, or the “good” fats as they are known. Here are some Tasty Fish Suppers Ideas and Inspiration for you and your family.

Fish is a very versatile food too because you can cook with it in so many ways,: grill, bake or fry there is a wealth of recipes available to encourage us to eat well with our families, and make a meal that is not only tasty but full of healthy nutrients too.

The RNLI – the charity that saves lives at sea – is encouraging people across the Britain to cook a fish supper for friends and family to raise money for the volunteer crew members who often have to sacrifice dinner with their loved ones to help those in trouble at sea. 13-15 October, the RNLI’s annual Fish Supper fundraiser is taking place. The campaign supports lifeboat volunteers across the UK and Ireland who often have to leave their loved ones at the dinner table, dropping everything the moment their pager goes off. The campaign encourages everyone across the county to host their own fish supper, to raise vital funds and help make sure the RNLI can continue to save lives at sea. To sign up. visit: www.rnli.org/fishsupper

The campaign aims to encourage people across the UK to cook up a fishy dish for family and friends to raise money for the crew members, who voluntarily sacrifice dinner time with their loved ones to respond to emergencies at sea. From gourmet Lobster Thermidor, to the quintessentially British Fish ‘n’ Chips, Fish Supper is a time for family and friends to come together! The importance of togetherness and team spirit is central to the RNLI, and is what makes the charity and its volunteers so special.
