Whenever I am asked what the boys might like for their birthdays, or when I am choosing a gift for one of their friends, I always say, and select, books. Unlike many toys already in their possession, I think you can never have too many books so to me it is a great gift to give to someone, especially children.
It is particularly special to give a child a personalised book because it makes it unique to them and , especially when you have children with more unusual names, it allows them a chance to see their names in print. Wonderous Ink specialise in this and their books are brand new to the market this Autumn and would make lovely presents this Christmas. The Wonderous World Of….. (insert name of child) are a range of books where the name of your child is revealed through a journey of discover, that the protagonist of the story embarks on. While on this journey, he or she unravels clues that reveal letters that end up spelling a name, and create the happy ending to the story.
The illustrations are really beautiful, brightly coloured and fun, and the letters that the character in the book and your child need to identify are clearly highlighted on each page. The books arrive in their own padded envelopes and has your child’s name on the front, which makes it very special for the lucky recipient (although a little tricky when one of your children can read their name! Luckily these arrived while said child was at school, so I have managed to keep these out of sight!).
As you can see near the end of each book, the letters that have been found, and highlighted, through the story are collated to reveal the name of the child and explain how wonderous they are. BUT that is not at all, on the very last page the boy or girl in each book finds a key, and on that key is a code which your child can use to unlock their very own Wonderous World online and continue their story. How amazing is that?
I am saving these lovely books for Christmas so I won’t find out what happens next until then. However, I know that they will go down very well with both boys – more so with Burton probably, as he will be able to read it himself this year. Priced at £19.99 and aimed at children aged 2-8 years old, these books will offer a really unique and special way to show a loved child how much they mean to you.
I was sent a book for Burton and Jenson for the purpose of a review. All comments made are honest and my own.
