I have been trying to get this post done since Tuesday, but have just been so busy enjoying the lovely weather!! Anyway, I wanted to share our Easter weekend because it was so much fun and we enjoyed some wonderful family and friend (and food!) time too.
Good Friday
We started the day on a playdate, but unfortunately it was cut short because Burton was sick and felt dizzy. So we came home and while he had a little rest on the sofa, we watched the film Hop which set us in an Easter mood, while munching some scrummy poshcorn popcorn !
The film inspired me to make an Easter Bunny inspired tea.
Easter Saturday
The boys and I packed a picnic and headed off to school to meet up with two of my PTA mum friends and their children, because we volunteered to clear out one of the sheds, While the kids had the freedom of the playgrounds and outdoor toys, we had a productive day and got lots of clearing and tidying done.
All that running around is thirsty work!
Easter Sunday
We went to my Mum’s today, the first Easter Sunday I have spent with her for many years as we normally spend it with the OH’s parents. My Nanny was down too as was my Step Dad’s Mum and my Step Sister and her family. It was a lovely day with some yummy food – roast leg of lamb and roast beef with all the trimmings. A proper family get together 🙂
Followed by a childhood favourite a Hartley’s jelly rabbit sat upon green jelly grass with mini marshmallow flowers.
and my White Chocolate & Mini Egg Cheesecake.
A little Easter egg hunt followed where the 3 children answered a little Easter question before finding some small eggs.
Then it was out for a walk to get some fresh air and to wear off all that delicious food.
Easter Monday
A glorious day spent at home. We did another little Easter egg hunt this morning before settling down to a lunch of leftover meat (thanks Mum!) and some goodies from my freezer (and baked beans for Jenson!).
After lunch we got the sprinkler out and the boys did lots of bouncing on our new trampoline. Happy days.
I hope you all enjoyed a great Easter weekend too xx
Thank you’s
Our amazing leg of lamb came from Donald Russell an online butcher which supplies top quality meat at great value for money. The meat arrived already slow cooked so it could be cooked from frozen in 90 minutes – meaning that all the hard work has been done for you! Genius!
As well as being able to order meat from Donald Russell , you can now buy desserts, breaded meals and side dishes for your freezer, and they take less than 30 minutes to cook from frozen.
My two particulary enjoyed the Hot Dog Potato Rösti Bites!
I was sent the vegetable & rosti selection along with a slow cooked leg of lamb for the purpose of a review.
I was also sent a selection of Get More drinks, Tyrrells poshcorn and some Hartleys jelly and fun Easter goodies for the purpose of a review and a blog post. All comments made are my own and honest.
(the Easter egg at the start is my own!)
