Soooooo it is now just over 5 weeks until the big C day (that is Christmas Day, in case you did not have a clue what I was on about!), and I have to say that I am feeling reasonably organised. I mean I have pretty much bought all of the boy’s presents now, and their cousins so now it is just my family and a few friends left to buy for. My Christmas cards are sorted as Burton made his own at school this year, and Jenson has even made his Daddy a present so that is another ‘tick’ of my list!
The only other list I need sorted is my Christmas food one. Not that I have written one yet, as that will get done at the start of December probably, but I enjoy picking up the festive food catalogues from the supermarkets and taking them home to browse, and plan where I can fit them into my menu. It is so exciting – I do love Christmas and for me it is truely on the way when a certain well know soft drinks commercial appears on my screen, with the infamous holidays are coming chant while a red festive train moves along! *This* advert for me marks the start of the festive season, and I know friends who feel the same .
I just love everything about Christmas. I love the build up, I love seeing all of the festive sights in town and in shops, and waiting for the new Christmas adverts, aswell as the old ones, to be shown on the television. I just love feeling the magic of Christmas and seeing it (and passing it on!!) to my boys. It is so exciting and therefore, I am so sad once it is all over.
Christmas adverts do play a big part in the build up to Christmas don’t they? As well as the Coca Cola one that I have mentioned, I love waiting to see what new commercial the big brands will bring out – it is such a tradition to wait to see which advert will be my new favourite each year. As each year passes, these almost ‘mini films’ are made and they are just amazing and they really help to make me feel more festive and get more excited about Christmas! There is always such a buzz surrounding the new Christmas adverts each year, and it is always a topic of conversation with my friends and family. From the music to the story and theme of the narrative, to the stars who feature in these adverts – it is all carefully planned and created, to stand out from all of the other commercials shown at this time of year.
I always know when a festive advert has done well, by the tear I get in my eye! Just like this one did!
What is your favourite festive advert so far this year?
Emma
Great minds think alike again! I’ve just written a post about the first sign of Christmas for me, and how even though I LOVE Christmas I don’t like it starting too early. We do miss out on the festive adverts here, even on Greek tv they are not that frequent and nothing special but I’ve seen the Sainsburys and John Lewis on youtube and they both made me cry!
