During my 20’s I use to love buying myself new shoes. It became a little bit of a habit of mine to treat myself to new pair of shoes or boots regularly, mostly in the sale of course (I was not made of money!), to wear out on a night out with my friends. Mind you, some of those new shoes ended up being too painful to wear the entire night, and I would end up with blisters, and more often than not it would result in me needing to remove my footwear before the night was over!
Still, I was younger then and I would suffer the pain of a beautiful new pair of shoes on a night out. From platform heels, to wedged ones, from high heels with pointy toes to open toe kitten heels,from chunky laced up boots to affordable and quality over the knee boots, I had something for every occasion. In fact I still have a pair of shoes that I purchased back in the 90’s that I still wear very occasionally, a blue denim chunky platform shoe that I cannot bear to get rid of because they hold such happy night out memories!
However, nowadays I always opt for comfort over heels or open toe sandals. Comes with being a Mum I think; always needing to be on the go, and getting out and about with two boys leaves no option for heeled shoes!
Therefore despite (still) owing several pairs of lovely shoes and boots, I usually end up rotating a few play it safe comfy pairs when I want to dress up, and wear the same ones every time. However, despite this I am still unable to get rid of my more uncomfortable, but still gorgeous, items of footwear because you never know when they might come in handy again!

Birkenstock sandals, a friend recommended them to me. Although the cost put me off at first I am so pleased I tried them as I live in them as long as possible throughout the year. They are soooo comfortable! Sarah

I’m a birkenstock girl in the summer months. I have 8 pairs in all different colours. I love a high heel and wedges but in the winter months it’s mostly ankle boots.
