With just a week to go until the 1st December, I have to admit to be a teensy bit excited now that Christmas is a month away. I mean the boys will be too and that is understandable because they are, you know, children, but here I am an adult, a grown woman and yet I still feel as giddy about Christmas as I did when I was a child!
I have been trying to start up some Christmas traditions for Burton and Jenson over the last couple of years, because now that they are old enough to understand what all the festive fuss is about, I want to establish some special memories that they will associate with Christmas, and maybe pass onto their children one day. One of the things which I have done for the last two years now, is the arrival of their advent calendars on the 1st December. I send the boys a box addressed from Santa, which contains an advert calendar each, and a knitted elf, the first year Buddy arrived and then last year we had Buddy and his friend Jingle turn up with the boys advent calendars. The parcel also contains a letter from the jolly man himself, explaining how the elves are here to stay until Christmas Eve when he will collect them when he drops off the boys presents (assuming they are good boys of course!).
This year I am adding a few little extras to their advent parcels, nothing especially fancy or expensive but just a few little things to help build up the excitement and make the countdown to Christmas day even more fun. Each boy will receive a Star Wars advent calendar, their elves, a countdown to Christmas reward chart, a new tree decoration, a festive drinking cup and a gorgeous new Santa Sack ready for filling on Christmas Eve.
The sacks are personalised which, given the unusual names of both boys, is such a lovely and unique gift for them because they are sacks they can use every Christmas, which I or they, can keep forever as a happy keepsake of Christmases past. Both boys will love their sacks because they will believe that they have been designed and made for them by Father Christmas. This belief is all part of the Christmas magic which I adore helping to create and then watch unfold in the faces of my children, as they wonder how things have happened.
Each Santa Sack is made from 100 % cotton, and measures 75cm x 45cm , so they will hold a lot of gifts for your child/children. They will complement any decor, as they feature a simple but traditional design, which will appeal to any child, and is suitable for any age and gender too. Maybe even for an adult who still believes!
All of the advent goodies will be presented to the boys inside a Santa gift bag, which will be boxed up and labelled and ‘posted’ before I go to bed on the night before the start of advent.
I cannot wait until next Tuesday morning, when there will be a parcel waiting for the boys in our front porch – sent by special Santa delivery of course- and to see their little happy faces as they wonder what is inside . How happy they will be to see the elves again, and then realise they can have chocolate every day at breakfast time! It is a magical and lovely start to our countdown to Christmas Day.
I was sent a personalised Santa Sack for the purpose of a review and to add a little extra festive cheer this Christmas for my family. You can order a sack here
