On Friday I was sent a wigwam play tent to review and, aswell as being perfect timing for half term, I knew that the boys would be chuffed to bits with it, because I promised them I would make a den with them during the school break, and now this has saved me a job!!
Well, when I say saved me a job, I still needed to assemble the wigwam, but trust me when I tell you that if I managed it pretty much on my own (just a little bit of help at the end by OH), then this means it is easy to put together because I normally just flutter my eyelids and ask my OH to do assembly jobs!!! The box shows easy step by step instructions – although my tip would be to read them all first and not one by one, else you might miss out on some crucial information, resulting in you having to turn the sticks the other way round inside the wigwam!
Anyway, I would say that it took me about half an hour to assemble the wigwam, and I think the finished product looks really lovely
It is made from a waterproof thick Calico cotton canvas with a wipe-clean finish, which, if your children are anything like my two boys, is ideal for removing snack or dirt stained finger prints! It is covered in a brightly decorated pattern and is very appealing to little ones.
The wooden poles are strong and therefore hopefully durable and have hardwearing plastic connectors and thick elastic ties for a simple and strong structure, which will give hours and hours of fun and creative play, and allow imaginations to flow.
There is not a huge amount of room inside the wigwam, but still there is enough for my two. My boys are both big and at aged 5 and almost 4, they can both sit inside comfortably and along with a cushion each to sit on and a mass of cuddly toys, there was room for some book reading and snack consumption!
I can see us having lots of fun with this for a good time to come, and once the weather is better it will look great sat on the grass, and be more comfortable for their bottoms!! It is also very portable so we could take it to Grandma’s to play with too if we wanted to.
The other great thing about this wigwam is that even when it is wet outside, just as it is this morning (typically half term wet weather has started!), it can still be used indoors as it does not take up too much space and because it only measures 1.9m in height, it stands up easily in the home
Priced at £59.99, I think this play tent is excellent value for money as it is well made and oozes quality. I love that because it is made from wood and canvas it feels like a traditional toy, built to look good and to last well. And what did my boys think of it:
Jenson says
I love sitting in it with my monkey
and Burton adds
its fun to sit inside and hide from you, Mummy
I was sent this wigwam play tent from Big Game Hunters for the purpose of a review

That does look fun. Kids love anything they can squirrel themselves away in. I’d say the price was pretty good…it’d probably cost nearly that much if you bought the components yourself.

I love the little designs. Seems quite expensive though.
