Summer has arrived this week although it took until Wednesday to make an appearance, as Monday and Tuesday saw torrential downpours and thunderstorms! But since then it has been scorchio! So what better way to cool down then to get the paddling pool out and get splashing after school! We do actually have a large pool which we bought last summer, and enjoyed immensely during the heat wave we had – it was great to have a dip and cool off! The only trouble with it though, is that being large, it does take a while to fill up, which is why I made the decision to buy a smaller paddling pool that can be filled up in under 10 minutes for instant pool time fun! I actually ended up buying a pool that does not even need inflating which saves a lot of leg ache as I do not have to pump it up each time – yay!
So for the last couple of afternoons Burton and Jenson have enjoyed having some paddling pool fun: getting each other wet and giving me a good soaking too, which they find highly amusing, of course! Trouble is that after about half an hour the shivers set in and they ask to come out of the water for a warm rub and cuddle in a towel, before heading back for about another 5 minutes, before they finally admit defeat, and throw in the towel, get wrapped up in one and head indoors for a warm shower.
But oh what fun they have before the cold water gets the better of them!
I just hope that our summer is here to last now and not all over by next week!
**The gorgeous childrens towels that Burton and Jenson are modelling in this post were sent from Soak & Sleep. They are perfect for keeping children warm after a dip in the bath, shower, pool or the sea and come in various cute animal designs. I love the details on the towels, like the fin, the teeth and gills on the shark towel that Burton is wearing, and the tail and cute monkey face on the one that Jenson has. The towells are a lovely size too and inside each one are pockets for little hands to fit inside too. Both boys LOVE their new towels and even ate their tea dressed in them tonight!

I was sent the towels for the purpose of a review. My comments about it are honest and my own. I only allow my children to review products that I feel are suitable and relevant to them.

Can’t beat paddling pool fun! I bought Sophie a really small one this year, so I can fill it up from the tap with warm water, and there is just enough for her to have a little splash about – the boys look like that are having great fun – love the towels 🙂

We add some warm water too. Lovely towels. Not surprised they were happy to get out and warm up in them. Here’s to more paddling pool days. #CountryKids
