Ever since he was able to co-ordinate a crayon onto paper, Burton has always enjoyed drawing. For the last few months he is constantly drawing me pictures and writing on them and as a result we are getting through a lot of paper!! I don’t mind though, I just love his enthusiasm and creativity.
“Every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up”
Pablo Picasso
I think these words are so true. When I was a child myself I would just draw – it did not matter that what I was drawing was not amazing, I do not feel I am naturally artistic in this way, BUT as a child this would not deter me from expressing my creativity with pencils and paper. And as a parent myself now, I would never criticise any of Burton (or Jenson’s) artwork because to me every scribble, every drawing is perfect because it was drawn by them and usually as I am the main recipient I know they have been drawn with love 🙂
Pink Lining, better known as the makers of luxurious baby changing bags, are on a mission to foster the natural creativity that every child has, and the company has initiated an art competition for children to enter. It is easy to enter the Kids’ Art Competition, you just need to submit a scan or photo of your child’s artwork on A4 landscape paper to Olivia@pinklining.com by Monday the 18th November.
I had no idea that Pink Lining sold bags other than baby changing ones, and when I was offered the chance to be sent one of their beautiful PL Child satchel‘s for Burton to review, I was only too happy. Not only are they really, REALLY lovely and designed well to withstand the everyday lives of children – like featuring wipe clean material and room for books/pads of paper up to A4 size and adjustable straps so the satchel can be worn like a rucksack. These satchels are also perfect for taking out and about on walks and for exploring the great outdoors, and the bag has a lot of room inside to store important nay essential items required for a jaunt around one’s garden! (in Burton’s case a banana, a drawing pad, pencil, drinks bottle and a car washing sponge!). However, more importantly, is that these wonderful old skool style satchels feature an in-built window specifically designed to showcase your child’s artwork.Plus at just £20 each and avilable in 4 designs, I think these satchels are excellent value too and would make a wonderful Christmas present. So why not enter your child’s masterpieces? Afterall imagination and original designs far outweigh technical skills. And you do not need to just stick to conventional pens, pencils or crayons, why not go out and create a leaf picture? Pink Lining will hand-pick 10 works of art after Monday 18th November, and all 10 winning entries will feature in the competition winners’ gallery and receive a PL Child satchel of their choice.
For more information about the competition and its terms and conditions please check here.
Disclaimer: I was sent a PL Child’s Satchel for the purpose of this post and because I genuinely think they are beautiful bags, and to help promote their art competition which I think is fab.
