Family Kitchen Cookbook by Caroline Bretherton (Review & Give away)

I love getting my hands on a new cookbook, and I enjoy nothing more than sitting down with a cuppa and looking though the photos and feeling inspired to make something new for my family. A few weeks ago I was sent a brand new family cookbook which is jam packed full of food glorious food recipes πŸ™‚famcookbookCleverly named Family Kitchen Cookbook, its author Caroline Bretherton has compiled over 700 tasty recipes ranging from babies to toddlers: vegetarians to meat eaters: snacks to main meals: kid friendly recipes to party food ideas and lots of puddings, cakes and bakes too.IMG_1454 (1)Honestly, this cookbook is like a recipe bible and I especially LOVE the fact that there is a photograph showing every single recipe. I hate having a cookbook where it is mostly words and hardly any pics to make me salivate and tempt me into making the food.

The book also offers lots of practical advice regarding freezing food, makes batches, food budgeting and how to help with your fussy eaters among a few examples. It is full of lots of informative and useful advice explained in a way that is easy to understand too.IMG_1455 (1)I have already tried out a few of the recipes, adpated slightly to what I have in my cupboards BUT that is what I like about this book. It has inpsired me to make some new meals due to its gorgeous photographs and because it is aimed at families, it includes ingredients which most of is carry in our cupboards and fridges.IMG_1447Priced at Β£25 this brilliant and helpful cookbook is available to buy now (was released on the 1st October) and I think it is worth every penny. If you make one purchase this year for a family meal recipe specific cookbook, then I think this is a very worthwhile investment and would make a fantastic Christmas present too. 1. Chicken Stew – I just pop everything in the slow cooker before work and then serve it up when I get home – so easy x

  2. It’s a tough to choose just one, especially when you’re all ‘foodies’ but I would say my personal favourite thing to cook is African Peanut Soup and some fresh crusty wholegrain rolls, yum!

  3. I love making home made pizzas topped with lots of Veg, Rocket & Garlic oil, the kids love getting involved making them too

  4. Our favourite family meal is a Roast Pork dinner … with homemade yorkshire puddings , homemade apple sauce and plenty of fresh steamed veg ! Not forhetting the roast tatties and pork crackling ….. **drool**

  5. Favourite is what we are having tonight.

Parmesan Crusted Pork Steaks with Macaroni Cheese and Green Beans with Onions , Garlic and Bacon – Oh and some chutney on the side

  6. There’s something about a roast dinner that just says β€˜family’. Definitely my favourite πŸ™‚

  7. got to be my homemade meat & potato pie, its delish and big bonus is everyone likeds it – which is very rare in this house!!

  8. Spag Bol because my culinary skills are very limited and this is a very simple recipe that we all love – especially with a bit of homemade garlic bread!

  9. I love cooking for my family as they all enjoy my cooking. However, one of my favourite meals to cook is slow-cooked chicken with onion, sweet potato, butternut squash, parsnips, swede and carrots. It’s one of those meals that I can put in the slow-cooker before I go to work in the morning and is then ready to eat when everyone gets home at night.

  10. i love to make home made macaroni cheese but with bacon and vegetables mixed through. its a cheesy pasta bake but the kids eat it if we call it macaroni cheese!

  11. Kind of like a carbonara but using bacon and chicken. But omg I love the look of the bacon and butternut squash spaghetti and if I dont win would you be kind enough one day to post the recipe as looks yummy
