I love getting my hands on a new cookbook, and I enjoy nothing more than sitting down with a cuppa and looking though the photos and feeling inspired to make something new for my family. A few weeks ago I was sent a brand new family cookbook which is jam packed full of food glorious food recipes πCleverly named Family Kitchen Cookbook, its author Caroline Bretherton has compiled over 700 tasty recipes ranging from babies to toddlers: vegetarians to meat eaters: snacks to main meals: kid friendly recipes to party food ideas and lots of puddings, cakes and bakes too.Honestly, this cookbook is like a recipe bible and I especially LOVE the fact that there is a photograph showing every single recipe. I hate having a cookbook where it is mostly words and hardly any pics to make me salivate and tempt me into making the food.
The book also offers lots of practical advice regarding freezing food, makes batches, food budgeting and how to help with your fussy eaters among a few examples. It is full of lots of informative and useful advice explained in a way that is easy to understand too.I have already tried out a few of the recipes, adpated slightly to what I have in my cupboards BUT that is what I like about this book. It has inpsired me to make some new meals due to its gorgeous photographs and because it is aimed at families, it includes ingredients which most of is carry in our cupboards and fridges.Priced at Β£25 this brilliant and helpful cookbook is available to buy now (was released on the 1st October) and I think it is worth every penny. If you make one purchase this year for a family meal recipe specific cookbook, then I think this is a very worthwhile investment and would make a fantastic Christmas present too. For more information about the Family Kitchen Cookbook please look HERE

I love cooking for my family as they all enjoy my cooking. However, one of my favourite meals to cook is slow-cooked chicken with onion, sweet potato, butternut squash, parsnips, swede and carrots. It’s one of those meals that I can put in the slow-cooker before I go to work in the morning and is then ready to eat when everyone gets home at night.
