Tomorrow my Dad is getting re-married. It is always a little odd, I think, when your parents get married to someone else. My Mum re-married about 8 years ago and to be honest I never thought my Dad would. He will be marrying Sheila who he has known for just over a year
Sheila has a huge family so poor Dad won’t have such huge support as asides from us going, my brother and his girlfriend is and my Aunt and her family are. Sadly my grandparents aren’t as it is too far for them to travel from Newbury to Cornwall! Whereas Sheila has 5 children and 10 grandchildren not to mention other members of her family.
This has made me think about the fact that this will be the third September in a row that we have had a wedding to attend! It must be a popular month in my family’s marital plans! It will also be the 5th wedding I have attended where I haven’t been able to drink at due to either being pregnant or breast feeding! And, more worryingly, I still don’t know what I am going to wear!! Aaaaargh its a disaster!!
Over the last two years I seem to have had a couple of dresses that I have been able to fit into and therefore have used for weddings. In April 2009 some friends of ours got married and I was 5 months pregnant. I was the designated driver, obviously! I have shown some photos of me at this wedding on a recent Gallery post, but here is one I didn’t use pictured with the bride,Laura
In the August when Burton was a month old we took him to his first wedding and he slept the whole way through! I wore the same black and white dress again because it well fitted me! This is me with Jon’s mum after the ceremony.
In September 2009, my step sister got married and because Burton was only 8 weeks old I wasn’t able to fit into the dress I had hoped to wear! I was still carrying my extra baby weight and had massive boobs so nothing I had in my pre baby size 14 fitted me! Luckily, my Mum came to my rescue and bought me a size 16 prom style dress which almost fitted – I couldn’t quite to the zip up right to the top but worn with a knitted cardi no one would have to know!
Then last September at my Uncle’s wedding I wore my Monsoon dress which I bought before Burton was born and I absolutely love! Last year I was trying to disguise the fact I was pregnant as I hadn’t yet had my first scan, so this dress was ideal as it kind of skimmed off my tummy area. I also wore hold it all it support tights for extra cover up! Although, by the evening I had to remove them as I could hardly breathe!!
So tomorrow who knows?? I haven’t bought a new outfit as I have lost my baby weight so hope I will find something I already have to wear. I need to have a marathon trying everything on session to determine what fits nicely but I haven’t had the time yet! I didnt want to wear a repeat dress, but I think the Monsoon one might get used again. Yay! Decision made.
There again, I need to be able access my boobs for breast feeding! Damn I had forgotten about that *goes back to the drawing board*

Aw I love a good wedding! I know what you mean about it being strange when parents re-marry – My Mum has just got a new boyfriend after nearly 20 years of being singel and it’s taking some getting used to on my part (although obviously I’m very happy for her). I think you look lovely in all of those pictures and I am sure that whatever you decide to wear tomorrow will be perfect. I hate trying to find an outfit for occasions like that though, somehow it always gets left to the last minute with me too! Hope the day goes well and that you enjoy it – I want to see a pic of whatever dress you decide to wear! xx

I hate weddings One day I will tell of my dads wedding 3 years ago. (That’s next weeks flashback friday sorted!)
I LOVE the Monsoon dress. Can you not feed in it?
I’m currently searching for an outfit for Harrys christening and can’t find anything suitable due to breastfeeding!
Have a lovely day tomorrow xx

…and? Did you find something to fit? I am so late getting back this week as I had my son over to visit. I hope you had a fabulous time, I’m sure you looked marvellous and I wish your dad and Sheila every happiness in their new life together x
