Your Baby’s First 12 Months

Having a baby is such a precious and joyous occasion, and the journey from first discovering you are expecting to the day he or she is born, is a magical one, as you see your bump grow and feel/see your baby move inside you.

Then you give birth to your newborn and  the first few weeks for me at least, were a bit of a blur due to not much sleep and the shock – albeit a happy one – that having a new baby in your life can bring, because, and let’s be honest, as much as anyone told you what having a baby was like, it still does not prepare you for first time motherhood! (or indeed parenthood!). However, it was an amazing time and those first 12 months of having first Burton and then Jenson flew past, even more so with the latter, and sometimes I wish I could experience it again because it is amazing how you can forget some of the  little things, even though you think you never will at the time!

Interesting, have you ever thought how much it costs to raise a baby in its first year? To work out roughly how much time you dedicated solely to feeding them , changing them, clothing and  trying to get them to sleep! Ha – I can remember how little sleep I got that is for sure! Maybe you had to pay for childcare too if you went back to work within the first year of your child’s life (and you can find out more about day care in Brighton here). Well, this infographic has worked it all out based on averages and it makes for a very interesting read:

Having babies can be costly it is true when you take the time to break it all down, but you do not really worry about that do you? After all, having a little perfect baby in your life easily outweighs any financial costs that come with it.
