Today has been a great day! Considering how much I dread the OH telling me he is away for two days and the thought of bathing both children and putting them to bed on my own is always a little daunting. Its not that I cant do it, its just one will cry while I put the other to bed! Also entertaining them for two days, when I have no use of a car and this time no buggy as one of the tyres is flat, was a bit of a concern! However, so far so good today.
For anyone who read my post yesterday about Burton and his recent meal times, today he has been brilliant. He ate his breakfast and cooked lunch no problem and was rewarded with two of his three stickers. I even managed to get him to take a nap after lunch, although he did scream for about 20 minutes before finally giving in to sleep! We have done drawings and read stories and played with play doh.
So for being such a good boy for mummy, I suggested a teddy bears picnic for tea which he absolutely loved! I laid out the picnic rug in the lounge and ‘bear’,
‘Chilly’
and ‘Penguin’ and Jenson
joined in the fun.
I think Jenson was secretly checking out the mini gingerbread men!

As it was Burton tried to feed him a raisin and raspberry! Which was very to sweet to watch
I think ‘Bear’ was more keen to try his food though
Of course by eating his tea Burton got his final sticker and some chocolate buttons as his reward, and he was very chuffed
So yes, it’s been a lovely day. I still have bath time and bed time to see through yet, but even if that goes a bit pear shaped at least we had a lovely fun day together 🙂

I know I say this all the time but I LOVE this!! Its so cute and I’d never even thought about a teddy bears picnic.

Sounds like a lovely day. Hope bathtime went ok – I know how hard it is trying to feed, bathe and bed two little ones on your own. I always want to go straight to my bed afterwards!
