Does your child’s bedroom need a makeover? Just like adults, children need a comfortable bedroom that is both functional and a pleasure to retire to at the end of each day. Without spending a lot of money, a kids bedroom can be transformed with just a few easy ideas, that are simple and quick to put into action .
Here are some suggestions on how to transform your child’s bedroom without breaking the bank:
Re-decorate
Giving the walls a new lick of paint can quickly liven up a room and give it a new lease of life without too much effort. Adding a border or some wall decals can be another inexpensive way of changing the look of your child’s bedroom easily. You could go with a theme, such as space by adding some planets and space rocket decals, or a dinosaur theme or rainbow and unicorns or a super hero look -the choice is endless. Another way could be to add some inspirational quotes which can be made age appropriate depending on the age of your children.
New Bedding
Updating curtains and / or bedding can be another relatively cheap and simple way to revamp a bedroom in next to no time. There is such a huge variety of designs available for children, that choosing the right one could take longer than actually changing it all over! Of course, it might be better if you stick with neutral colours for the bedding and curtains, but just inject some colour with some funky cushions, maybe a new beanbag or rug or a new lampshade, that way as the child grows older, he or she will not outgrow the bedding design, and if need be just the accessories could be replaced at a later day.
Artwork
Another way to liven up a child’s bedroom is to add some new artwork on the walls. A blogger friend of mine, told that she uses photographs in her children’s bedroopms,as she explains:
Photographs make the best wall art and can be updated easily and inexpensively by just slotting a new photo into a frame and it is such a lovely personal touch to a child’s bedroom. It makes them so happy to see family/friends/adventures they have had.
You could of course add some personalised artwork which is unique to your child and bespoke so no-one else would have the same image.
