A few weeks ago, I was invited to visit Crealy here in Devon which is an adventure park just outside Exeter. I have to admit I have not visited it before, mostly because I actually thought it was much further away from me than it is. So I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it only takes an hour to travel there, so this has made me determined to visit with my family before too long.
However, I digress because I was not invited to visit the adventure park part of Crealy. Instead I was asked to pop down and check out their Meadows Caravan, Camping and Glamping Park, and see for myself the range of facilities and accommodation available. I had NO idea that you could stay at Crealy to be honest, but having had a look around the site myself now, I have to admit that I would be very happy to stay myself!
The toilets and shower facilities are SO clean and modern and WARM! Tastefully decorated with marble tiles on the walls , these do not look like any showers that I have seen at campsites before – these are lovely! I also really liked the fact that there is a family bathroom perfect for families with little ones, as it contains a bath, shower, adult and child toilets and make washing as a family so much easier! There is a laundry room which is well equipped and a wells rocked shop too, which is great for those emergency items we all need when we arrive on holiday: bread, milk, tea bags etc. Going forward, Crealy will be working with a nearby farm where guests on site will be able to buy locally made farm produce to take back to camp and cook and eat themselves.
The glamping huts have been themed around an African experience, and they are reminiscent of accommodation you might find on a safari. They are very spacious and cosy inside and have some really interesting features.
As you can see they are a good size for a family and would make for a very unique glamping experience.
While I was visiting, I was also lucky enough to take a sneak preview of Crealy’s brand new 5 * luxury lodges which are brand new for this summer. Available for bookings now, these home from homes are just beautiful inside and they have been tastefully decorated to a very, very high standard
For more of a tour please check out my video – thesis the first time I have filmed a review visit so it is not Oscar winning by any means, but hopefully it will give you an idea of the wonderful facilities at Crealy has to offer.
As you can see, Crealy is much more than just an adventure park and it certainly impressed me with its range of accommodation and the high standard of its facilities. And from now until the end of September 2016, there is 15% off the Meadow View
lodge – which I believe is the lodge I visited.
Of course no trip anywhere is complete without a cup of tea and a slice of cake!
It was also a lovely opportunity to meet up with some fellow Devon bloggers :
I was invited to visit Crealy Meadows and received complimentary tea, cake and a family ticket for my time. All words, photos and video made are my own and an honest account of what I saw and what I thought.
