There are some gifts which go hand in hand with giving to loved ones or people we hold dear to our hearts, to mark a special occasion, and these are normally chocolates and flowers. Whether it be to celebrate a birthday, a wedding, anniversary, a new birth or an old and deceased life, or just to show someone how special they are, flowers are the gift that I think most of us would send to recognise such significant occasions.
Although I do not expect to receive flowers, and I have told my partners, past and present, not to waste their money on buying me flowers, I have to admit to being totally blown away whenever I have been sent a bouquet as a surprise. There is something about seeing a gorgeous array of colourful flowers bunched together in a beautifully presented bouquet, that never ceases to make me smile.
I think flowers are designed to do just that – make people smile and that is why they are such a popular gift, because they are guaranteed to cheer someone up and brighten up their day. Plus of course, if a bouquet arrives while you are work, and for once it is for you, it makes you feel really special and you know that your female co-workers are a little envious!! Even better still, is receiving a bunch of flowers from a mysterious admirer of course!
Flowers can make you smile, they can make you feel elated and they can even reduce you to tears. They can spark a memory and be a remimder of someone you once loved.
How do they make you feel?
