It depends on the type of veggies – some are much nicer steamed, but you can’t beat a roasted parsnip!

  2. It depends on the vegetable and what else we’re having with it – I usually steam leeks, cabbage, purple sprouting broccoli and asparagus, boil carrots, beans, cauliflower and swedes and roast squash and celeriac. And then there’s stir-frying…..

Oh – depends on what we are eating. Normally steam my veg – but sometimes roasted go better 🙂

I love steamed veg, the flavour seems to be so much better, thank you for a lovely giveaway.

Actually, it’s a ‘horses for courses’ for me. I love a mix of methods. Sometimes I use more than one method with the same veg. For example, boiled potatoes in their jackets and corn on the cob, are delicious if you then baked them to crisp up a little.

  6. Boil, but briefly! I don’t often cook veg on their own anyway as we’re not a ‘meat and veg’ family. Its generally cooked within a pasta sauce or chilli or curry.

I nearly always steam my vegetables – the colour, texture, and flavour are so much better

I do all three. I steam coli/broc/red cabbage. roast carrots/parsnip with a roast dinner and often boil carrots/runner beans etc. I roast a lot of Mediterranean veg too. i all depends on the overall dinner we are having really.

Depends on what it is and what we’re eating them with…. but I love roasted carrots and usually boil things like peas :o)

well it depends on the veg – nothing beats roasting for parsnips with lovely crusty bits, but I boil carrots

I steam all our veg – we have two young babies so i steam pretty much everything they come into contact with

  13. We have no preference. Depending on what we eat, depends how I cook them.
Mainly steam though using my steamer.
I love roasted veg too as I can add herbs, sea salt and cracked black pepper or even honey, yum!

Definately roast, it’s easier too cook that way too as it requires less ‘staving over the cooker’.

Steam veg if you like any taste I have been steaming mine for 17 years and never looked back

I prefer roast veg however the kids love boiled and will not touch roast so we tend to have boiled more often than not just to please them and ensure they are getting enough veg.

Steam for beans, broccoli and peas but also love roast veg (especially if it’s Mediterranean or Carrots and Parsnips at Christmas)
