Sunday – we packed the car with hardly any room to breath and headed down to Cornwall to visit my Dad for lunch who lives near St.Ives. After lunch and a visit to the nearby park, we got back in the car and headed back up to A30 to a campsite a mile away from the Eden Project. Our first camping trip as a family having borrowed the tent from OH’s parents. I cooked tea on the camping stove and we spent our first night in the wild (kind of!) as we were all in bed by 9.30pm! Not the best nights sleep though what with me being cold and a fidgety Jenson sleeping next to me!

Monday – we had bacon sandwiches and beans cooked by Daddy for breakfast, and then we packed everything up and headed to the Eden Project, as I had recieved complimentary tickets. It was a hot day so walking around the Biome’s was quite hard going and the boys wanted to play hide and seek among the plants!!! BUT I loved it and cannot wait to go again I think it is an amazing place and I wish I could have seen and done more. Anyway, we arrived home again late afternoon when all the unpacking and washing had to be done!

Tuesday – we had a day at home today with me catching up with some cleaning after our couple of busy days away and making some yummy petits fours. The boys enjoyed playing out doors in the garden as I took the Happyland toys down there for them to play with. I took a photo of Burton to try and capture his beautiful blue eyes and long eyelashes. My boy who is soon to start school – I have spent the week being an emotional wreck thinking about the 16th when he goes off to school. I don’t want this time of having at home with me to end! Seeing ‘theboy’ start today didnt help as I was thinking about him and his mum all day too!

Wednesday – Jenson has discovered the camera on my phone and I found this selfie he took this morning – I like the angle of it and seeing his face from this perspective. The boys and I went to Granma’s so they could play with their cousins. I left them there this afternoon as they were having a sleep over tonight. So I went food shopping and had a tidy up at home.

Thursday – I collected the boys this morning as we were expecting a friend of Burton’s come over for a play date with his mum and little sister. However, unfortunately, Joseph was not well enough to come whcih was a shame so we have rescheduled for monday . So instead I let the boys make pizzas for lunch and then this afternoon we went to pick our own strawberries which turned out to be an interesting hour!! Here is my FB status from when we got home

just taken the boys to pick some strawberries. Jenson fell over twice – once on a gravely track and hurt his hand, then landed in some manure so was stinking and messy. Burton decided he needed a poo – no toilets so he had to go behind a hedge and i had no wipes so i had to use leaves to wipe his bum! We were only away from the house for under an hour – what a state to get in!

I will say no more on the matter!

Friday – a morning of playing was followed by an afternoon at the soft play with a friend and her son. The boys ran around for ages and Burton made a little friend called Sophie and I caught him with his trousers down showing her an old ‘war wound’ from last week when he hurt his knee! I need to teach Burton that not everyone appreciates seeing his pants!

Saturday – swimming this morning and when we walked back to the car afterwards, the sun was out, the sky was blue and the carpark was littered with massive puddles. Burton waded on through getting his feet wet and I just thought it would make a great photo due to all the reflections on show and the big clouds in the sky and in the puddle and on the car windows.

  • Oh Jenny I read your FB status about the strawberry picking and I have so been there! You poor thing, but it something that you will laugh about in time. I love the puddle photo, what is it about boys and water? I would love to visit the Eden project, it is definitely on my list of things to do, so does that mean you are going to become a camping family then?

    • ha ha it was funny really if a little mortifying at the time! If my OH has his own way then yes camping is the new way of holidaying for us all. he is already on e-bay looking out for tent bargains !!!!! x

  • That reflection post is gorgeous, it’s such a fabulously clear reflection. You lot are mad going camping, I couldn’t handle it but I hope that the boys had a great time. I find Eden an absolutely astounding place, and a great teaching resource. I am so sorry if I’ve made you more upset this week.

Thanks for linking up to Project 365.

  • Hahaaaa aww the pants thing made me laugh. I’m not much of a camper but it sounds like with the camping plus the poo incident you’ve had a “wild” week. Geddit geddit? 🙂

  • wow you have been super busy Jenny, there is nothing like camping. I love the Eden Project.

Although a fantastic picture with the strawberries (and so many of them too) gutted it all went so wrong honey

  • Glad to hear you making the most of the few days left before school. I actually cried today over it (he starts Monday). I have never been to the Eden project. Sounds like Thursday was your best day then lol. xx

  • A busy week for you. We have still to try camping as a family, but we loved the Eden project when we went a few years ago. Would love to go back. Don’t envy you the strawberries day – sometimes it’s just like that when everything seems to happen at once.

  • looks like a fun filled week, apart from the strawberry picking. We never got much sleep when camping with the kids either. The puddle reflection is brilliant, and of course he could not possibly keep out

  • Gorgeous photos. You are so brave to go camping, I don’t think I could. I’m scared of beasties and I hate being cold. I remember seeing your FB status, poor you! x

  • That looks a brilliant week. We went to Eden in February but the girls didn’t enjoy it.

I love the strawberry picking photo, that’s what summer holidays are all about

  • Why is that boys always seem to have the longest lashes??
You can see that Jenson was concentrating while taking the selfie.
My favourite piccie is the puddle. Great reflections.

  • I’d love to go camping but the OH is not for it in the slightest. Don’t think I’m brave enough to do it on my own. Loving the pictures, especially the close up ones of the boys xx

  • Sounds like a fun in interesting week.

The showing of the pants made me giggle, kids just don’t realise, love their innocence!

And oh yuck at the falling into manure!!
