As a mum to two boys I do my best to get out most days with them, illnesses permitting, to enjoy the fresh air and all that mother nature has to offer us all year round. Of course it might also be to do with the fact that two boys have a LOT of energy to burn off and unless I want them bouncing off the walls indoors, to get outside is the best way to get them to run off all that steam!!
I was recently asked to become an Official Forest Blogger (I even have a shiny badge in my right tool bar) which is right up my uhm well i was going to say street but i guess path is more apt! I love trees and the woods, I have since I was a young girl myself. So much mystery and intrigue and wanting to discover what lies at the end of a path, around a woodland corner, behind a tree, under a tree and so on. I want to pass this love and ‘magic’ of the forests onto to my boys too, I believe it is a legacy that we, as parents should want to commit to. To share the glorious countryside we live in and encourage our future generations to want to help look after and preserve them.
Back in cold, cold December my family and I visited my local forestry commission woods in Haldon Forest and we had a wonderful day despite the freezing weather conditions. We will be returning again soon to show the boys the forest in springtime, and see the new life shooting out of the ground and the trees. I cannot wait!
