Back in late 2011, I was introduced to Tractor Ted, the star and narrator of a range of educational DVD’s who also appears in a a variety of merchandise, from books to jumpers and wellington books. This little green tractor not only entertains his young viewers but also teaches youngsters all about farm and countryside life, using a mix of animation and real life footage . The concept was the brain child of mum – of – 3, Andrea Heard, back in 2005, after her children would ask her to stop and watch the farm machines at work in the fields when they were young and, naturally, ask questions about what they were seeing. Together with David Horler, a Wiltshire/Somerset farmer , Tractor Ted was created to help answer and show children life down on the farm and living in the countryside.
There is now a huge range of Tractor Ted products available to buy ideal for any occasion from ride on tractors to Tractor Ted beds! Puddle suits, hooded sweaters
stationary items, books and mugs and so much more there really is something to suit every little tractor fan! Please visit the
Tractor Ted website for more information.
Drawing on the popularity of farming and its machinery and animals, opening next month for the first time will be
Tractor Teds Little Farm . Situated at Little Farm in Bowood, Wiltshire this wonderful family day out will allow children and adults alike to meet farm animals, to feed them and to see them in their natural habitat. At certain times of the year the big farm machines will be seen at work harvesting and ploughing. Not to mention the ride on tractors and mini digger den. It will be a farm-tastic day out for all the family!! I think I may have to take the boys here when it opens on March 20th as it sounds a perfect day out for them, and having enjoyed watching the DVD’s Burton is sure to recognise some of the machinery and know what jobs they do around the farm.
Tractor Ted also has a facebook page where you can be kept updated with news, events and special offers
(Tickets to the House & Gardens which includes Tractor Ted’s Little Farm costs £10.50 for adults (13 years and above), £9 for Senior Citizens, £8 children 5-12 years and £6 for children 2-4 years. A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £31.50)
