When Burton was about 3 1/2 months old his daddy and I took him on his first little outing just the three of us which didn’t involve visiting family or friends. We took him to a place called Tarr Steps on Exmoor which isn’t a long drive. It was a beautiful crisp and dry autumnal day and there were plenty of leaves fallen on the ground, which I was trying to get Burton to touch and interact with but he wasn’t really having it!
We had a little picnic (Burton would have had a feed before we exited the car for I was not big on getting my boobs out in public places!), his daddy and I down by the river and then had a little walk.
Back then my OH, who is a keen amateur photographer, was trying out some new camera equipment so Burton and I had to sit and have our photo taken a lot!! Poor Burton was dribbling a lot that afternoon and a little grumpy so it was hard trying to get him to ‘pose’ happily.
The worse thing about the day, although now looking back I can laugh about it, was that when we returned back to the car, I left the two of them sat inside while I went off to use the ladies. When I returned Burton had done an almighty nappy explosion – you know the ones that only babies, possibly only ones that are breastfed, can do, it just goes everywhere and I always found that if Burton was sat upright the contents of his nappy went over the top of it and would stain his clothes. So poor little mite, on a crisp October day late afternoon, I had to take him to the boot of the car so I could lay him down on the parcel shelf, in the outdooors, and and had to strip him off to change him and he was crying and I was panicking because it was cold!! Bless him!

I’m still experiencing the poo explosions on a very regular basis! I don’t know how my girl does it and, as you say, it’s always worse when they are upright! Beautiful photos and I’ve finally managed to link up, I’ve been meaning to for ages.

I love Tarr Steps,so tranquil and unique. Unfortunately with the floods endured in January most of the stone was damaged and washed away. Kxxx
