I am going back to basics this week, as it is late and I am tired but I want to note down my week that was so here it is.
Monday
I couldn’t take Burton to Ladybirds due to not having the car and we stayed in mostly playing puzzles and watching films as I waited to hear news about my Na. Sadly, he passed away at 4.20pm this afternoon. I managed to stop myself from crying as I didn’t want to upset the boys, but it was hard. I wanted a cuddle but with OH away it didn’t happen. All in all a bit of a crap day 🙁
being cheeky opening DVD box when he knows he shouldn’t!
Tuesday
It rained all day so we had to stay in (again!). Today mostly consisted of playing with the toys and watching Cars. Nothing exciting and to be honest I was feeling a bit sad today. Still, these two cheeky monkeys keep my on my toes and not sad for long!
elves on the shelf……sort of!
Wednesday
The sun was out today so we went to the park for some fresh air and fun! It was so nice to get outside and see some blue sky and feel the sunshine on our faces!
Thursday
Another day spent indoors. I did some baking this morning while the boys played with their kitchen. They have also started a new game whereby they go to the bathroom together when Burton needs the toilet and then get into the bath together!!! They think its hilarious whereas I tell them its dangerous! Daddy returned home tonight so we took Burton for his swimming lesson, and the good news is that he is going to go up to the next swimming group in the big pool!
Friday
In an attempt to get Burton to behave from now until Christmas , I have made a video message from Father Christmas to him, which he loves to watch! Even though it hasn’t really made that much difference!
The four of us left home at 1pm to travel up to Newcastle as we have a wedding to attend on Saturday. It was a looooong way and we didn’t arrive until 9.30pm!! Still the boys were so good. We stayed in a Travel Lodge and basically went straight to sleep as we were all tired and theres not much else you can do when you are all in the same room together without internet!! LOL
Saturday
The wedding was held opposite the Angel Of The North in a country pub hotel. Being so close to Christmas I have to admit that the decor and theme was really lovely and festive. Jenson slept throughout the ceremony and for an hour after laying on the floor on his coat! He got a lot of ‘awwwwwws’ for that!
The reception was lovely also because it was so well geared up for children which was so refreshing and made things so much more relaxing for us parents! We eventually got to bed at 10pm with two very tired boys – after some silly wig fun!!
Sunday
We were all up and having breakfast by 9am and we left the hotel just before 11am on our looooong journey home. Not before the boys were given some balloons by the newly Mrs Moore – this made them both very happy!!
We arrived at my Mums at 5pm to have some tea and let the boys have a run around – they were so full of beans from being stuck in the van!! Then we arrived back home at 9pm with two sleepy boys dressed in pjs.
And that concludes my week that was.

I am so sorry again to hear about your Na Jenny- it must have been a very tough week especially without your OH there to give you a cuddle. I am glad it got better towards the end of the week at the wedding- it sounds like you had fun, but what a long car journey- I don’t envy you that. We have two of our best friends who live in Newcastle and while I love seeing them, I hate the journey up there. x

The picture of Jenson sleeping on the coat has made me go ‘awwwww’. Looks like a nicer end to your sad week and I’m sure your little boys will always keep you busy xx

Oh Jenny, I’m so sorry to read your sad news! I know how much you adore your Na from previous posts. Sending you a massive hug and lots of love xxxx

That does not look like a particularly comfy sleeping position Jenny! I’m so sorry about Na, and it’s so hard when you just want a hug, but the children help don’t they?
