Next week Jenson will be 20 months old.
Let me take that in…….he is going to be 20 months old!
Eeeeeeek!
What is even more scary to me is that in a few weeks he will be the same age that Burton was when he was born (another post is in draft about that already!).
Since my last Jenson update 2 months ago, he is saying a lot of words now and these include
NO!
jam
bike
marmite
mummy/daddy/granma (he cant really say Burton yet)
Shadow
beans
cheeeeese
pease (please)
ank you (thank you)
hello
hiya
byeeee
bow (bowl)
weeee
poo
mammy (monkey)
bisk (weetabix)
me
He loves splashing in puddles and in the bath.
He has really enjoyed our days out recently playing with leaves on the ground, sticks and stones and riding on the back of daddy’s bike.
He pulls the funniest faces – his ‘grumpy’ pouty face is hilarious (see below) and he knows what makes us laugh. However, he has also shown signs of the ‘terrible twos’ creeping in and has had a few visits to the naughty step for shouting ‘NO’ to daddy and I, or for hitting me (he does this a lot when I say no to him!).
He loves his ‘monkey’ which is funny when it actually originally belonged to Burton (which luckily he has forgotten about now!) and he takes it everywhere! The park, in the car, on the back of daddy’s bike and he has even had a shower once when Jenson refused to leave him on the bathroom floor!
He has been a little fussier about his food too recently, a typical toddler-ism as Burton was the same!! Soooo frustrating but at least I know this time round that it will improve as time goes on. His favourite food is pasta and brioche (not together) and he has recently discovered tomato sauce and loves eating it with his finger or dipping food in it and only sucking the ketchup!! Oh and licking the spoon when I have been making cakes (I have to coat two spoons so each boy gets one each!).
He is taking after his big brother with his swimming. Despite not having as much water time in the pool as Burton has had, when they went last weekend Jenson swam with just the woggle (pool noodle) and was kicking his legs really well!
He is a typical boy too. Into anything and everything and of course he has had the beast teacher in Burton!! What a pair of boys – cheeky and funny and mischievous.
Double trouble and hard work but I love them both and I am proud at how well they get on (most of the time). I was at the park with them on Tuesday, and they were playing with two little dogs at the park and when it was time for us to leave they said goodbye to the dogs lady owner a few time s and waved and she said to me that they were lovely and a credit to me. I smiled and felt proud but I did also tell her that they are not always that good!!
Here he is my gorgeous almost 20 month old, no longer a baby and sooooooo much a toddler, but he will always be my baby boy 🙂

Jenny that’s such a beautiful post about your gorgeous baby, and I adore that bottom photo. You are going to have such trouble with those two in about fourteen years time though! When Burton starts going down the pub there is no way that Jenson won’t go! Good luck!

Such a lovely post, it looks like you have a lot of fun! I love his sulky face picture, very cute. Mine has also discovered that tomato ketchup is best eaten off fingers rather than as an accompaniment to food. So nice to see them both together having fun xxx

He is so gorgeous. I can tell by your photos that he’s a real character. I really hope that one day I can meet him.
The photos are really lovely. And the one at the bottom is especially stunning, he looks so much like Burton on there. xxx
