Can you believe it, another week has flown by!! And its September already, where is the year going let alone this last week?
Anyway, as is customary on my Sunday nights, here is my week that was
A bank holiday and it rained ALL day. *grumble grumble*
The boys and I visited Granma so they could play with three of their cousins who were there for the day. While Jenson and I walked home again, Burton stayed the night.
I collected Burton from his Granma’s at lunchtime and as it stopped raining I loaded the buggy up with both boys and Burton’s bike and we walked to the park. We had lots of fun splashing in muddy puddles, hiding in the bushes, exploring trees and Burton rode his bike. It was nice to see some sunshine!
Burton went to Ladybirds today as he didnt go on Monday with it being a BH. While he was there Jenson and I went to see a friend who has a boy the same age as Jenson which I thought would be fun. However, Jenson spent most of the time snuggled into me – I think he has been teething this week as he hasn’t quite been himself all of the time.
We collected Burton and for a treat I stopped off at a new cafe for a drink and a tea cake as I thought it would be a nice thing to do with the boys. However, Burton threw a ‘tiresome threes’ tantrum because he wouldn’t sit down once he drank his juice and kept running around. I was mortified and I will probably never return there again!
Mum and I took the boys to a local National Trust property a few miles from me today and we had a brilliant day! Sadly we haven’t managed to make it to Arlington Court during the last 6 weeks, as there have been activities laid on during the school holidays but due to not having the car much we couldn’t get there! However, I am so glad we made the last day because we participated in some bug hunting. We looked under tree stumps and found a tiny newt, a tiny frog, a millipede, a woodlice, a spider and a slug!! Burton really enjoyed it and he was able to look at them more closely through a magnifying glass too. Afterwards, he helped to set the insects free again.
There was also a small patch of wooded trees with the most beautiful trees which reminded us of the deep dark woods from The Gruffalo (and Gruffalo’s Child) book which we all love. So we went on a little Gruffalo hunt and played hide and seek.
All the fresh air and running about yesterday must have tired the boys out as they both didn’t wake up until 7.45am!!! This morning we (well I walked) went on a bike ride and Burton experienced his first gravel graze from falling off his bike!
This afternoon I popped to Tesco and then we went to my friends to collect her bike which she has offered to me as she never uses it which is very handy. So on the way back we visited a bike shop to buy me my (first) own helmet!!
It has been raining – well heavy drizzle really – all day today. Still with a new bike for me we couldn’t not go out! I was a little apprehensive as I haven’t ridden a bike for about 5 or maybe 6 years!!! I had forgotten how much cycling can hurt your bottom and legs!! Anyway we went on a 3 mile bike ride and I took a tow bar so that by the main roads or when he got tired I could tow Burton.
Later on this afternoon we went swimming and we sneaked my new mini camera in which the lovely Butlins people sent me as part of my Butlins Ambassador role (to use on my Butlins holiday to record our trip in photos and video).
And that has been my week that was!!

You look like you’ve had a great week even despite the crappy weather! I love Burtons pic on Saturday where he looks like he’s saying “look! No hands!”

Oh yay!! I’m so glad you have a bike! You look so happy <3
I hope Burtons injury isn’t too bad xx

Great to hear you have a bike so you can join in with the rides. I know how difficult it can be to keep up when everyone else is cycling!
We love the Gruffalo and are planning to see the real one before the year is out, weather permitting. Lots of lovely snaps and another great week 🙂 x
