Due to a turn in the weather, the boys and I haven’t been out and about as much as we have recently, so I fear my week that was is a tad samey!! Still, this is what we got up to.
Burton went to Ladybirds and Jenson and I stayed at home as my youngest was a little off colour after being sick last night and being a bit warmer than usual today, so I felt staying in would be better for him.
We were all set to go to tumble tots again this morning, until I realised that the buggy extender to turn it into a 2 seater was in the boot of the car (which daddy had!) and it was too far for Burton to walk there and back and spend an hour running around. So just as I was wondering what we could do, when I received a text from my blogger friend TheBoyandMe asking if she and her family could meet up this afternoon on their way home from another blogger’s holiday farm CoombeMillFarm !! So armed with this new information, Burton and I set to work making some cupcakes and I made a fruit pie!!
When our blogger friends arrived we all went to the park and then we all came back to my house for cake and drinks before they left armed with pie and cakes to take home with them!!
The boys and I walked to our local soft play to meet Granma and Ben where we spent several hours running and jumping and climbing everywhere! Then while Jenson and I walked home, Burton went back to Granma’s where he stayed the night.
Burton was dropped off early this morning and him, Jenson and I walked to the park to meet a friend and her son. Unfortunately, because it had rained first thing everything was wet so no one could really go on anything as they would have got soaking wet clothes! So after about 15 minutes of running around the playground, we all came back to ours to play until lunchtime.
This afternoon, the boys and I baked (again!) a chocolate fudge banana cake to take to Grandma’s tomorrow as I had some over ripe bananas. I think they only want to ‘help’ so that they can luck the bowl and spoons afterwards!!
Tonight Burton had his second swimming lesson and did really well again and showed off his confidence by jumping in unaided and telling the instructor to move back further away from the side! She had to catch all the other children as they jumped in
This morning we returned to the toddler playgroup at Filleigh which we all enjoyed and I chatted to a couple more mums today which I was pleased about. Afterwards we called in at Tesco to pick up some bits for lunch and a cool Spiderman hoodie for Burton, which he wanted to wear as soon as I bought it. He doesn’t actually know who Spiderman is, he just saw the spider and thought it was Incey Wincy Spider!!
This afternoon I took the boys to my Mums for the weekend as daddy and I are off to a wedding ‘do’ tomorrow and its in the evening. When I got home i did the housework as we have some people coming in the morning to view the house. Then I made cake pops for tomorrow night. I was knackered and went to bed early. Well, early for me!
I was up and out of the house by 8.30am to get my hair cut and coloured for 9am. Afterwards I went and bought a gorgeous maxi dress from Monsoon for tonight 🙂
At 5pm we went to a reception and evening ‘do’ in Lynton, for some friends who got married in New Zealand two weeks ago. It was nice to have a grown up night out and despite the photo above, I didn’t drink that much but had a lot of fun and danced a lot! We stayed at a guest house just up the road and rolled into bed at around 2.15am!!!
Despite being a Sunday and not having the boys we were still up early as breakfast was served at the guest house between 8-9am!!! So after several cups of tea and a rather yummy home cooked breakfast, we left the guest house and headed to Mums to collect the boys. They were both very happy to see us.
We ended up staying all day as Mum offered to cook a meal and it rained ALL day so we couldn’t go out anywhere but it was nice to take it easy after a very late night!!
And that was my week that was!!
