Is a headline Daily Mail journalist Liz Jones used a few years ago about women who go on maternity leave for what she feels is too long. as she wrote back in 2009:
For middle-class women, having kids is a lifestyle choice, an excuse to put their Ugg-clad feet up while barking at the nanny for 12 months before returning to a warm office where they can coo to the baby via a webcam and have a nice sit-down.
Today on This Morning I watched this woman – yes a fellow woman – talk utter nonsense with regards to women who choose to take 12 months maternity leave. According to Jones, its no the length of time that bothers her moreover how women take it. She would rather women “phoned in more regularly, came in for meetings, gave me ideas”.
