For about a month now, Burton has been asking to visit the zoo. I don’t know where he has got this notion from, as its not somewhere we discuss going regularly or at all. I can only assume it is from reading books or watching CBeebies maybe.
Anyway, today we went to Paignton Zoo and we had a wonderful day, and despite an often grey and overcast sky the rain held off until we drove home!
Burton was very pleased to see some owls, which he knew from the Gruffalo books, and other animals he recognised like lions, elephants, monkeys, zebras, crocodiles, snakes (as in scrambled snake – another Gruffalo -ism) and giraffes. In fact when asked which animal he liked the best from our visit today, Burton replied “me like the giraffes” and both daddy and I agreed with him.
Both the boys were so good today and it was a lovely family day out.

You all look like you had a really great time. We went last week too and Baby Z was fascinated with all the monkeys.. But ignored everything else 🙂

So lucky you all got to go to the zoo – lovely pictures! We went to a restaurant near ours to buy Vinay a muffin and to look at the aquarium. SO boring! Boooo!
