Yesterday, March 8th, was International Women’s Day.
It also saw the launch of Avon‘s Pass It On Campaign and the unveiling of the new Empowerment necklace. The necklace costs just £3.50 with all proceeds from its sales going directly to Refuge and Women’s Aid which are Avon’s UK charity partners.
It is a shock to learn that at some point in their lives 1 in 4 women will suffer domestic violence here in the UK. I still can’t get over what a high figure that is.
Domestic Violence can take on several different forms of abuse:
Emotional
Physical
Financial
Sexual
It is important for the victims to know that they are not alone and they can get help. Support from charities such as Refuge and Women’s Aid can assist women and children to get the help they need.
Aleisha Dickson launched the Pass It On campaign from the National Domestic Violence Helpline (a FREE 24 hour helpline), as she herself helped to pass it on with the Empowerment necklace
As I mentioned on my blog earlier in the week, I posted about the Pass It On campaign set up by Avon and started a little initiative of my own to help raise awareness about domestic violence (which you can still join in if you would like to – pretty please?!)
I was not asked to write this post, I simply wanted to as a follow up from my earlier post and because I think its a great campaign to help highlight and raise awareness about domestic violence. Afterall, I myself have found out a lot more about it as a result.

Not many people know this – but I’m an Avon lady. And you’re quite right. More people should know about this. Avon does a lot of worthwhile campaigns and this is both a great cause – and a very pretty necklace.
