Heinz Squeeze & Stir Soup – A Review

With the weather having taken a considerable turn for the wintry worse these last few days, it always makes me think about comfort food. Hot drinks, hearty stews and soup always make me feel comforted inside when my outside is feeling cold.

I was recently sent some samples of a new type of cup a soup made by Heinz.

Called Squeeze and Stir , these new range of on the go instant soups are ideal for taking to work to keep you full and satisfied at lunch time, or at home if you need a quick warming and filling snack.

Unlike the more well known cup a soups, instead of being a powder these new ones from Heinz are a paste – like tomato puree to begin with, therefore, making them seem a nicer soup in a mug before you have even tasted them.

This is how easy they are to prepare:

Boil kettle

Tear top of the sachet and squeeze the puree in to a mug of your choice

Add 50 ml of boiling water and stir well with a tea spoon

Top up with a further 130ml of boiling water and stir and then enjoy (although taking care as boiling water can burn your mouth!!)

These soups are available in four yummy flavours including minestrone and cream of tomato. Owing to them being made from a concentrated puree, the soups really do taste very nice and are lovely and thick and filling.another good thing about these Squeeze and Stir soups is that they count as 1 of your 5 a day, contain zero artificial flavours, colours or preservatives or MSG.

I tried the Minestrone and the Mediterranean Vegetable varieties and they really are very nice. I love soup and if I haven’t made any myself, I often keep some cup a soups in my kitchen in the winter months as a lunchtime filler. These soups from Heinz are as good, if not slightly better, then the market leader in these products, and I really do recommend them if you also like cup a soups.

Available in supermarkets now these Heinz Squeeze and Stir sachets are handy to keep in your food cupboard and ideal to have for a fast and warming mug of delicious Heinz soup.

I was sent these samples to review because I like soup and the opinions and comments made in this post are my own.

I’ve been buying the Squeeze and Stir at my local Morrison while they were 3 for £1, managed to stock up on a few, I like them because I also like soup, and sometimes I will have a soup cup instead of a cup of tea, and these sachets are nicer than powdered soups generally, however, a lot more pricey so I personally will only buy the Squeeze sachets when on offer.

Taste wise, I like the minestrone as my personal favourite from the range with the only one I dont really like being the Tomato and Basil…overall I really like them but the price is to inhibitive to purchase at full retail…

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, a virtual cup of tea and slice of cake awaits you x
