Tara has been away so there was no Gallery last week, but she is back this week (hello!) and the theme is BIRTH.
Before I actually gave birth I always worried about what it would be like. How painful it would be. Would I poo in front of people. The usual stuff really. Everyone has a story to tell you about their birthing experience, but I think until you experience childbirth yourself you have no real idea of how it is going to be.
Thankfully, both of my births have been positive experiences for me and were not actually as bad as I had always feared. Don’t get me wrong, there was pain but it was bearable – just!! It is also something that I will never go through again as two children is all I ever wanted, and I really feel that I don’t want to go through it all again. I have two healthy, beautiful boys and that is enough for me and their daddy.
I have used photos of Burton’s birth before, so I am using ones from the birth of Jenson instead. He was probably about 30 minutes old in the following photos. I find it amazing that his head is still out of shape in these photos after being born, and how swollen his face looks! I don’t remember noticing any of this when I saw him for the first time! He looks like he has just done several rounds in a boxing ring, bless him. His little hands are still so purple aswell
Yet within an hour or so everything settles down and most the swelling subsides – how amazing the human body is!!
Childbirth is an amazing journey to go on, and one that I feel very fortunate to have been able to go through and experience for myself.
Now check out the other Gallery BIRTH posts
Thank you xx
