I have just taken Burton and Jenson on our first bus trip together. Burton has been on the park and ride bus in Taunton twice before with his grandparents, but I have been meaning to take him on a bus for several months.
I didn’t take the buggy on board as I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to get it on and whether I would have room to stand it up rather than have to dismantle it so I carried Jenson on in his car seat carrier and Burton walked on like a big boy! I paid for a return trip to Bideford which isn’t too far and decided that we would just stay on the bus, and just do the round trip. We sat on the top of the bus at the front so we had a great view of our journey, and straight away as we climbed up the stairs Burton knocked his head on the hand rail!
Anyway, Burton was very happy to be on the bus and held tightly to our ticket for most of the journey!
And he enjoyed looking at where he was going, and it was great pointing things out to him from farm animals in the fields to tractors, cars and the sea!
Of course travelling along the north devon coast bus route the views out of the window are fantastic
My view sometimes showed me a cheeky monkey like this lol
Jenson didn’t get quite the same view on the way as he slept, so he was on the floor!
But on the return journey he was awake and the three of us sat looking out of the bus window while Mummy sang “the wheels on the bus”!! Probably much to the amusement of the other travellers sat behind us!
All in all for £2.35 and for just over an hour, our bus trip was very enjoyable and Burton had a lovely time

I am newly addicted to the oepen top bus which runs from Barnstaple to Croyde. I get on at Braunton, Xavier loves it although i always come off with rather lovely bus hair! For the money buses are great toddler entertainment. I totally agree with you x
