So with the announcement that the Great British Bake Off is moving to Channel 4, and my social media timelines being filled with various opinions and feelings on this, let us forget that for a moment and admire all of the amazing bakes linked up for bread week.
For those who cannot remember, the three challenges on GBBO were:
Signature – Chocolate Bread
Technical – Dampfnudeln
Showstopper – Bread Centrepiece
So without Mel and Sue – I mean further ado- here are my Star Bakers for bread week.
Chocolate Bread
There were some really delicious loaves linked up – for someone who does not eat much bread owing to Slimming World, it was hard looking at all of the yummy ones you made. In the end I am going for this one – made by a husband who I think did a wonderful job! So well done Shell Louise and her hubby 🙂
Dampfnudeln
A few of you were brave enough to try this steamed (not baked!) way of making bread. I did like the sound of this savoury version but in the end, I decided that the ones made by Michelle looked the best.
Bread Centrepiece
Lots of delicious breads came forward for this category, and this GF centrepiece came a close second, but in the end I am going with Anca’s Flours in Vase
Congratulations to the 3 Star Bakers but also very well done to you all as I know for many bread week is not a favourite!
Next time it is all about batter!
