Project 366 2016, Week 1

Happy New Project 365!! Well actually it is project 366 as it is a leap year and my OH gets an actual birthday this year, but still it is a new year and I am about to commence my 4th year of taking a photo (almost) everyday and posting them on my blog, as a way of recording my boys and our ordinary lives.

It is harder to capture a photo every day now that they are both at school, so going forward if I miss a day I will just post a photo from a day where I took two instead. That probably means that I am breaking Project 365/266 rules but for me, personally, this is about memories and therefore as long as it is a weekly round up, I am not going to worry about which day each photo was taken on.

So this week saw a the start of a new year with my family coming on New Years Day for roast beef, a trip to the park, blustery walk along the ragged North Devon coast at Baggy Point,  taking down the Christmas decorations, a unexpected train trip, back to school, enjoying his Roald Dahl books, a Father Christmas bubble beard, an early morning selfie and homework!

  1. I’m with you on the photo taking front – no point stressing about it. Better to have the photos as a record of your week than stress about one a day. Lovely shots of the boys – I like the one of Burton reading Roald Dahl.

  2. I think as you, this project is all about memories, not exact recordings. I started this year the challenge and I love it, I’m going to make a monthly update on my lifestyle blog and I post the pictures on Instagram. It’s so nice to look at the pictures and see what I did or what happened that day. I love it, it’s a fab challenge.

  3. Lovely photos! I love the blustery day by the sea, the excited boys on the train and the lovely concentration with the Roald Dahl book.
Totally with you on just sometimes posting another photo from that week. I don’t do it often, but it does happen from time to time – it still sums up the week as a whole!

Yay back for another year! Happy new year to you all, it looks like a busy start to the year. The coastal walk looks lovely, I wish we were closer to the sea. Here is to a great 2016 xx

  5. Hi Jenny

Love that bath photo – brilliant!

We played that ‘who am I?’ game over Christmas- highly amusing although between Granny and the 7year old cousin struggling with who some of them on the cards were, it was hard going.

  6. The bath picture made me laugh. Glad you got out for a blowy walk. Oh dear at the sore arm in the picture.
Nice to see him reading willingly, my son was always ore reluctant than the girls.

  7. Aww what great photos. Loving the Guess Who game and what a lot of fun they’ve had. It is hard taking pictures when they are at school, this is why I do one photo a week and pick my favourite. It is sad taking the tree down isn’t it. Have a great year lovely xx

  8. What a great start to the New Year! Nice to see you popping up in one of the photos too, us Mums are normally behind the camera aren’t we. I don’t think it matters when the photos were taken I like to look back on this project to see what we got up to throughout the year it doesn’t matter what day they were taken. Looking forward to seeing your boys grow again this year.

  9. Catching up and wishing you a very Happy New Year (if I haven’t already!). Lovely start to your year, and well, I’ve missed a day already, so I’m with you on not stressing too much about it now! Love the photo of your husband and the boys and one of the bubble beard 🙂
