With winter just around the corner, every parent knows that Christmas will be the number one topic on every child’s lips. And where better to celebrate the season of goodwill than Lapland, the home of your children’s favourite person, Santa Claus?
What is there to do in Lapland?
The honest answer to this question should really be, “what isn’t there to do in Lapland?” Finland’s most popular holiday destination offers lots of different sights, sounds, adventures and activities that everyone, from eight to 80 can enjoy.
Lapland holidays offer families so much to do, especially outdoor sports and activities. Do you like to ski? Or do you like to go ice skating? Perhaps you and possibly the kids would be interested in doing something a little bit different, like snow tubing? Well, Lapland is the perfect holiday destination for kids and big kids who love to explore the great outdoors in winter.
If you aren’t the biggest fan of sports, then there’s something else that Lapland has: furry friends. Many parks and resorts are also home to reindeer throughout the year, and visitors are often allowed to ‘meet’ and pet the reindeer. The chance to see one of these beautiful animals up close is just too good to miss and it’ll give your children a real sense of wonder and even more excitement (if that’s even possible) for the upcoming Yuletide activities.
Please note, many resorts ask that children have parental supervision when visiting the reindeer, so make sure the little ones are never left unattended with the animals, especially if they are very young.
Christmas is a magical time of year and booking Lapland holidays can really help add that extra sparkle to this joyous adventure. Remember, Lapland isn’t just any holiday destination; it’s the home of Santa Claus himself, so why not treat the kids this winter with a surprise trip that they’ll never forget.

I’d love to go to Lapland whilst the magic of Christmas is still in my children. Looks amazing.
