A new way to beat stress

Today’s post is all about a possible new way for Mum’s to combat the stresses of everyday life…..

In many ways, mums are the best at juggling all the different aspects of their life – work, family, money, housework…we can do it all. However, it also means that mums can be particularly prone to stress. A report by the NSPCC found that over half of new mums struggled to cope and that 57% felt isolated.

It’s no wonder that stress can develop among new mums. Some feel guilt that they have to work alongside bringing up their children. The increase in single mums has also meant that many feel very alone. Unlike a hundred years ago when women had a strong support network of friends and family, women nowadays can often live miles away from their relatives. The expectation placed on new mums is also much greater. Women want to be ‘good’ mums but also want to have the perfect home and a career.

If you feel like stress is seriously affecting your health then it’s important to seek medical advice. However, looking after your mental wellbeing on a continuous basis can often stop the problem from spiralling out of control.
