If Money Were No Object

Being a full time SAHM and not having much money to spend, I often day dream about what I would do if I were to win a large sum of money. I would love to be able to afford to have my hair cut (and coloured but *whispers* thats a secret because obviously my hair colour is all my own *ahem* !) at a salon again, have regular facials and massages – you know a bit of pampering as that would be soooo relaxing and make me feel really revived. I guess allow me some ‘me’ time. While we are on the subject of having time on my own away from being a mummy, wouldnt it be amazing to have money to go out and buy an entire new wardrobe and not worry if the items I see are not in the sale!ladies who

Oh and I would love to be able to buy some new things for the house too, because since we moved here last January we have not had any spare money to redecorate it or rennovate the rooms that the previous owners started but did not finish!! I would buy curtains and blinds for each room, and some new pots and pans and some nice things that catch my eye and are just pretty or quirky. I have a never ending list of items that I would love to kit my kitchen out with!!

However, what if I were to win a life changing sum of money – you know the type that would enable me to fulfill a dream, or a life long ambition without needing to borrow from everyday loans?  Before I had my children, I had always wanted to open my own cafe / coffee shop and I did actually suceed with that dream as I had my own little cafe business for 5 years. However, to buy it I had to borrow money, so therefore, when I eventually sold it to become a SAHM by the time I repaid my debts I came out of it with nothing!

BUT what if I had enough money now to do with as I wish ? No debts or loans just the money to do with as I wanted.

Well, I have often pondered this because I know that very soon I am going to have to return to work once Jenson starts school but I need a job that I can do to fit around the school day, and allow me to not have to work during the school holidays, due to childcare costs. Therefore, unless I am able to get a job in a school or some free lance work from home, my only option I feel is to run my own little catering business. I have had lots of ideas mostly involving my love of cakes and baking them. At the moment my current idea is to open my own high tea / vintage tea and cake business. I feel that coffee shops have been done to death now, but as much as I enjoy a frothy coffee or hot chocolate, you just cannot beat a cup of tea with your cake. Having had my first high tea the other weekend , it suddenly dawned on me that I could offer a service which provided differnt blends of tea served in tea pots that you brew the tea yourself in, alongside homemade cakes,  sandwiches and a cream tea served on proper china crockery and presented on stands

I think this would be a fantastic business idea and it would suit wedding receptions (where champagne could be added too), christenings, anniversaries, wakes and birthdays. I was also thinking that children’s parties could be catered for also as you could easily make child friendly versions using juice in place of tea and sandwiches cut into shapes. If money were no object then I would love to open a premises too where I could serve customers the same idea – I know I would love to visit a tea shoppe where I received such a service. It would be decked out with vintage bunting, tea sets and crockery and of course delicious homemade cakes, scones and freshly cut sandwiches washed down with hot tea.

I would absolutely LOVE to do this and I am sure it would be very popular. I guess until I am lucky enough to win the lottery I will just have to keep dreaming and keep making cakes as practise – you know just in case!

What life long dream would you fulfill if money were no object?
