Dearest Jenson,
Happy 3rd birthday my darling monkey obsessed little boy. I really cannot believe you are 3 already and that in just a few short weeks you will be starting pre school for 7 hours a week, and my second baby will be off in the big wide world without me. Ok, so that is a slight exaggeration as you will only be about 1/2 a mile up ther road, but even so it will be the first time you have spent time apart from me (or a fellow family member) since you were born, and it is a big step for the both of us. Still, I am sure you will take monkey with you to keep you company.Since Burton started school, you and I have enjoyed some mummy and Jenson time haven’t we? When the weather was nicer we went out almost every day to the park or on a walk and it was lovely having that time just the two of us as we had never had it much before.
I will miss it when you start pre school and even more so after the summer holidays when you will do more hours. I have noticed a big change in you these last few months. Gone is the toddler chubbiness and in its place is a tall and more lean boy and it is so easy to forget that you are only now just turned 3, as I think we all forget how young you are because of how you are behaviour wise. You talk a LOT and I cannot for the life of me imagine where you get that from (lol!), and your mannerisms and faces you pull are just hilarious!! You are a little comedian really and have perfect comic timing – maybe you will be a comedian or entertainer when you are older because you are a funny little boy. You are so loving and love giving cuddles and it cracks me up when Daddy asks you for a cuddle and you tell him that you have run out because you gave mummy the last one!! You adore Burton and even though the two of you do fall out and argue more now (both stubborn boys) , you love playing with him and copy him a lot, which is good and bad!!
However, you also have a temper and the things you come out with are quite shocking sometimes, and you look so stern telling me I am naughty or that I should sit on the naughty step, it is hard not to laugh when I have to tell you off for talking to me like that. And you still hit me and threaten to do so which is so naughty of you and not nice, and I have no idea why you STILL do this despite being punished for it and told over and over again that it is not appropriate behaviour.
You have accomplished a lot this year. You learnt to ride your balance bike and today you have had your big boy (monkey!) bike with pedals and I know you cannot wait to go out to the park in a bit to have a ride on it. You are a good little swimmer and can swim a little way without any arm bands on now and you are ready to have lessons really, but we feel you are a bit young to be left on your own in a group just at the minute. And of course you have managed to potty train yourself before your 3rd birthday and despite some accidents still, you are pretty much dry in the night (which Burton is not) now which is amazing. Well done you. You love monkey and all things monkey related, books, tee shirts and bikes! You also love crafty activities, play dough and stories. You have a sweet tooth like me although you prefer biscuits to cake so maybe not as much like me as I thought!! You are such a wonderful boy and we love you very much and the terrible two’s have not been too bad really, so I am hoping that the tiresome threes will pass us by without too much trouble too. I think because you are a bit prone to having a strop anyway those phases have not affected you!
Happy birthday my amazing boy and lets see what this year brings you. I love you so much and always will. Love from Mummy x x x x

Aww what a really lovely post. I can remember when he was born and I can’t believe 3 years have flown by in the blink of an eye. A huge Happy Birthday to him. I hope you have a wonderful party today xx

It’s such a cliche but I really can’t believe that he is three! I remember him being born, and I know him better than some of my best friends children which is very strange. (my oldest friend has only ever sent me one photo of her 2.5yr old!) How are these younger one growing so much faster!!
Happy Birthday little man, hope you had a great day xxxx

This is beautiful Jenny. He seems so much like Harry in so many ways, he really reminds me of him.
I’ve always thought that he comes across as a comedian and as having a funny personality (through your photos).
He is such a handsome boy, and it’s so sweet that he says he has given you the last cuddle so can’t give one to daddy.
I hope he’s had a fantastic 3rd birthday xx
