If there is one coffee shop I enjoy visitng it is Costa Coffee. I do not frequent it very often, but I especially enjoy popping in during December to sample their Christmas menu and to see how many of their festive food and drink specials I can try. Therefore, when I was approached to take part in the Costa Food Fun Challenge and have some fun with the food from their new Spring menu, how could I refuse?
The aim of the challenge is to create some food art using as many of the items from their new spring menu as possible. I received a hamper full of goodies – check these scrumptious treats out!
The new menu consists of:
**NEW Belgian Chocolate Jaffa
A light vanilla sponge, with a zesty oozing orange curd, topped with a Belgian milk chocolate ganache and enrobed in Belgian dark chocolate
**Ultimate Jammy Biscuit
All butter shortbread biscuits with a sweet raspberry jam filling, shaped just like an old favourite!
**Ginger Muffin
A ginger sponge packed with stem ginger pieces, filled with a gooey ginger syrup and topped with vanilla icing and a piece of crystallised ginger
**Marshmallow Crispie Bites
Crispy rice pieces mixed with syrup, honey and melted marshmallow all enrobed in a thick layer of Belgian milk chocolate
**Hot Cross Bun
A sweet dough packed with raisins, sultanas, citrus peel and Easter spices- all in a unique Costa shape!
**Easter Chocolate Crunch
Crunchy cornflake pieces, smothered in a rich Belgian milk chocolate, topped with yet more chocolate and three mini chocolate eggs
**Farmyard Gingerbread
Your favourite farmyard characters, all hand iced and made with our unique Costa gingerbread recipe.
I have to admit to leaving my challenge a little bit late in the day as I was so busy getting the food, cake and all the other things ready that were needed for Jenson’s birthday parties this weekend, that I was unable to find the time until yesterday morning. However, I do enjoy a challenge and especially a food one so here are my #costafoodfunchallenge creations
and
I am not sure if these are works of art, but they were fun to create and now I have done my #costafoodfunchallenge I can sample the food I have been using!! Which is a relief because they have been making me hungry!
I was sent a hamper of food for the purpose of the #costafunfoodchallenge and the images I produced are exclusively mine (I mean, who else would hold thier hands up to them???)

Awww Jenny, I LOVE your caterpillar!
Happy Birthday to Jenson. xxx
I’m so jealous! Love Costa cakes. The hungry caterpillar looks fab!
I stalked the #CostaFoodFun hashtag on Twitter for a few days and commented on everyone’s posts, but I never saw this one 🙁 So sorry.
Only found it now, as in Google images, I Googled #CostaFoodFun and saw superb #FoodArt that I did not recognise so I clicked straight through to hear.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your costa caterpillar.
